Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Y2J is set to host a Highlight Reel segment. As he told Michael Cole in a recent interview, The Authority will be his guests.
That interaction and all the in-ring action is already in the can since WWE taped it Tuesday night. It won't air until Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
The lineup is light because WWE split its roster among this event and one in Brighton, England, on the same night. Per PWInsider.com, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Big Show, AJ Lee and Sheamus were among those stars who worked that house show.
That leaves SmackDown with a thinner cast of characters to send out to the ring.
The following is a look at all the matches taped for Friday's show. The results have been left unspoiled.
Bray Wyatt vs. Sin Cara
The Eater of Worlds faces a man he has trampled over many a time. Sin Cara enters as an underdog here, even with his latest successes at NXT.
Wyatt last defeated him on Main Event on Nov. 4.
That night, Sin Cara managed a bit of resistance but ended the bout on his back. Wyatt looks to pick up another win as he gears up for his match at Survivor Series against Dean Ambrose.
Ambrose and Wyatt have yet to physically clash since Hell in a Cell. Does that end here, or will WWE save that for Raw or Survivor Series itself?
Adam Rose and The Bunny vs. Goldust and Stardust
Last week, the tag team champs bounced back from a loss to Los Matadores by knocking off The Usos inside a steel cage. Their level of competition lowers this week against Rose and The Bunny.
If Rose can avoid pushing his pal around, he and The Bunny can force themselves into a crowded title picture. Just about every team in the division has a big win on its resume and can argue it deserves a crack at Goldust and Stardust.
To pull off that upset and join that group of would-be challengers, though, Rose and The Bunny have to get along far better. WWE has been teasing a heel turn for Rose, amping up his aggression level and having him manhandle his rabbit friend.
The fact that they are teaming together means they have at least bettered things for the moment.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Cesaro (Intercontinental Championship)
The Showoff is certainly a fighting champion. He defends the IC title once more, facing a high-flyer and a bruiser with a mean streak.
This looks like an excellent encounter on paper. Cesaro and Ziggler have great chemistry together. Kidd has been on a roll with his work on Main Event and NXT.
Add the stakes of a championship match, and you have a good reason to tune in Friday night.
It may be hard for Ziggler to focus, even with his title on the line. He is less than two weeks from a match against Team Authority. He'll want to walk out of this match uninjured and look to avoid Kane or Rollins trying to pummel him after the bell.
Layla vs. Natalya
With AJ, The Bellas and Paige all working the Brighton show, WWE turns to two Divas who aren't in a prominent storyline in the moment.
Natalya has had some on-screen troubles with her husband Kidd, so that may come into play here. The result of Kidd's championship match against Ziggler will drastically impact his mood whether he is with Natalya at ringside or just interacts with her backstage.
As with the majority of Natalya's matches, this has a shot at being entertaining if it's given enough time.
Layla normally plays the heel but will find it hard to do so. Being an Englishwoman should get quite the hometown pop.
Kane vs. Ryback
Ryback's time away did him well. Before his surgery, it would have been hard to imagine him being in the main event on SmackDown, especially right after being a central figure on the Raw beforehand.
The Big Guy refused to side with either Team Cena or Team Authority, flooring Cena in the early part of Raw and attacking Kane to close the show out. That latter action has him a target in Kane's sights.
Fans will expect some hint at where Ryback is heading, both as a character and in terms of his Survivor Series involvement.
It looks obvious that Ryback is going to join Cena at the pay-per-view, but on Raw, it sure looked as if he was going to ride with The Authority before he went ballistic on Kane and company.
That's not a wealth of matches to entice fans to stay in Friday night, but there are some intriguing events that will take place. Ziggler will strive to keep his championship, Ryback will get a rare shot on center stage, and Jerichoholics are likely already going through withdrawal.
