WWE 2K15: Breaking Down Full Details of Creation Suite

Every detail for the soon-to-be-released WWE 2K15 is coming into focus. The game is due to release on Nov. 18, and on Tuesday we learned about one of the most important features.

The creation suite in a wrestling video game is crucial to the title's longevity. WWE 2K15's art director, Lynell Jinks, shared precious details about the mode and expounded on the previously announced Superstar Studio.

In this year's game, gamers will be able to upload any image and use it as a tattoo or logo for a created Superstar, or an existing Superstar's attire. Per Jinks' diary on WWE.2K.com, here's how it works:

  • First, go to the “Logo Manager” under Community Creations in the WWE 2K15 main menu;
  • You will then be prompted to generate a “Logo Token,” which will show up instantly on screen;
  • You’ll then enter the token on our dedicated web page on the official WWE 2K website, located at wwe.2k.com/wwe2K15logo;
  • Now, it’s time to upload your images on this page! By entering your Logo Token, you are granted access to upload up to five images at a time;
  • Once the images are uploaded, locate your images under the “GO TO MY LOGOS” option in WWE 2K15 and proceed to download them;
  • Each user is given 20 slots for downloaded images or any images uploaded by the community. The pixel dimensions for the images can be up to 512 x 512, but it doesn’t have to be exact—just as long as it’s under those dimensions, the tool will scale it to fit;
  • Up to eight different images can be used on your Superstar, but those eight images can be used as many times as you want. Once the image is placed, you can position and scale it.

As you can see from the images of Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, the tool allows gamers to accurately add new attires.

It sounds like a pretty seamless process, and it is one that is similar to EA Sports GameFace and Team Builder applications for games like EA Sports UFC and NCAA Football, respectively.

This concept should be especially helpful in a wrestling game. As it pertains to existing Superstars, attires can change on a weekly basis. Some gamers will want to keep in-ring gear and entrance attire up to date with what they see in real WWE programming.

This application sounds as if it'll allow you to do that as much as any creation tool in the history of WWE games.

In case you're wondering about fans who might upload images of a questionable nature, 2K Sports seems to have that covered. Per Jinks, the images will be regularly monitored, and the community will have the option to report any offensive pictures.

Once reviewed, these images may be pulled. Hopefully this check and balance functions properly, so that we can maintain the fun aspect of a cool feature.

Even with the depth that is offered in the details of this creation suite, there are still some limitations.

Gamers can only create 25 Superstars. There's no create-an-arena, create-a-championship or the ability to create a Diva or a storyline. Marcus Stephenson of WWE Games offers one piece of information that improves the outlook for those who want to customize members of the WWE Divas roster.

Each omission will sting some portion of the WWE gaming community, but the additions—if they function as advertised—will still make the creation suite intriguing and fun.
