WWE Rumors: Examining Latest Buzz Around Rey Mysterio, Roman Reigns and More
Rey Mysterio is reportedly resisting stepping back into a WWE ring while Roman Reigns is working on getting more well-rounded once he's ready to do so.
Those two Superstars at opposite ends of their careers headline the latest WWE rumors. Both have been absent from WWE programming, with Mysterio apparently looking to keep it that way.
Backstage word on ECW Week and Survivor Series' undercard is also noteworthy. The Bunny may be getting a spot on the pay-per-view, something that fans could see coming once Adam Rose started pushing his fuzzy partner around.

Rumored Matches for Survivor Series
As of this writing, Survivor Series' official card has three matches. Officials reportedly have two more in mind.
F4WOnline reports (h/t PWMania.com) that Adam Rose vs. The Bunny and a tag team title bout featuring Los Matadores vs. The Usos vs. Stardust and Goldust vs. Damien Mizdow and The Miz are planned for the upcoming pay-per-view.
Rose has shown heel tendencies in the last few weeks, taking out his anger on The Bunny. It would shock no one for WWE to have these lead to a match on the Survivor Series pre-show.
The current storylines are pointing in the direction of that four-team match becoming a reality as well. That quartet of teams have been trading victories—cheap, cheating-assisted and otherwise—as of late.
Miz and Mizdow defeated Los Matadores on Monday's Raw. That comes just days after the bullfighters knocked off Goldust and Stardust in non-title action on SmackDown.
There's an easy line to draw from the now-muddled title picture to the rumored match for Survivor Series.
Why WWE Wanted Acting Lessons for Roman Reigns
Reigns is spending his recovery time refining his mic skills. Acting coach Howard Fine tweeted that he finished up a three-day class with Reigns:
This was apparently something WWE wanted him to do. As PWInsider.com's Dave Scherer reports, "WWE feels that being more rounded as a character is something Reigns needs to work on."
Even with Reigns' improvement on promos since his debut, WWE is absolutely right here. He's essentially a single-geared performer on the mic. Working with Fine was a good way to expand his acting range.
It's not surprising to hear of WWE officials thinking this way about Reigns. Should his verbal work catch up to his physical gifts, he's bound for big things.
Reigns isn't the only one who could use Fine's expertise. WWE would be wise to invest in his lessons for more members of the roster. Even will all the talented talkers the company boasts, every Superstar could improve his or her acting.
Backstage Word on ECW Week
While WWE running a ECW-themed week on the WWE Network may not seem like news, rumblings coming out about the behind-the-scenes process is telling.
According to F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc), the decision to run ECW Week on the WWE Network was made about 48 hours before announcing it. The report adds that a source revealed the company has all of its content ready for the Network and strangely that the department running it has a lack of wrestling knowledge.
There's a lot to digest here.
First, the ECW content does have some social media presence. Imagine, though, what kind of buzz WWE could have generated if it had planned this out earlier in advance.
The other big takeaway is this impression that the folks in charge of the Network reportedly have limited wrestling knowledge. While you don't want to just hire the first guy in a Bullet Club T-shirt you see, it's seems odd not to have wrestling-minded people in these positions.
The Network's content and how its promoted have to appeal to the kind of WWE fans willing to shell out money every month. The people running it have to understand that segment of the population.
Update on a Potential Rey Mysterio Return
Mysterio fans may have to wait until he and WWE sever ties to see him in the ring again.
A saga that has included a forced contract extension and a backstage meeting in Buffalo, New York, last week continues. The latest word is that Mysterio is pushing back regarding a return to action.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) (h/t Wrestling Inc), the creative team has been told to come up with stories for him, but Mysterio has made it clear to WWE that he doesn't want to come back.
As contentious as his and WWE's relationship has been as of late, this is expected. WWE is left with a mess now. Its only option appears to be working out some sort of settlement with Mysterio.
He's not going to be shoved back into the ring. The only thing the company can gain from strong-arming Mysterio is bad publicity.
It's time to let him fly elsewhere.
