Chelsea Transfer News: Marco Reus Bid Reportedly Readied by Jose Mourinho
Chelsea are looking to add further strength to their Premier League-leading side by bringing Borussia Dortmund superstar Marco Reus to Stamford Bridge in January.
The Bundesliga club could well be prepared to cash in on Reus in January as he has a release clause which activates in the summer, which would see him become available for just €25 million (£19.5 million) despite his contract lasting until June 2017, per Enis Koylu of Goal.com.

Unsurprisingly, given his quality, a whole host of clubs are reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old, but Jose Mourinho has made him a top priority and is preparing to make a bid in the new year, with Andre Schurrle potentially going the other way, per Metro.
Reus missed out on the summer's World Cup through injury and has struggled with fitness in the new term, but he is undeniably a special player with unrivalled creative talent, per Betway:
He is a very versatile attacker with the ability to play on both flanks but preferably through the middle, while taking up either an advanced role or acting as a playmaker.
While Chelsea already have a wealth of attacking talent, a front six of Diego Costa, Oscar, Eden Hazard, Reus, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic is a frightening prospect for the the rest of the Premier League.
The Blues are already leagues ahead in terms of consistent quality in the English top flight with many suggesting they are shoe-ins for the title, including the Sunday Telegraph's Jason Burt:
Although their lead at the top of the table is currently only four points, the closest of the so-called bigger teams is Manchester City, who sit eight points back.
The addition of Reus to Chelsea's side would likely make them even better, and teams like City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool would be playing further catch-up with Mourinho's men.
However, there is a strong possibility that Reus will not leave in January with Sky Germany's Jan Aage Fjortoft insisting he will stay put:
If that does indeed turn out to be the case and Reus stays until the activation of his buyout clause in the summer, there is likely to be a free-for-all for his signature with Bayern Munich, City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly also interested, per Charlie Eccleshare of the Mail Online.
The addition of Reus would make any club better, and with Dortmund currently sitting a lowly 15th in the Bundesliga, Mourinho may be able to tempt him away in January.
If the Portuguese manager is successful, Chelsea's Premier League rivals must all sign extremely well in January if they plan to contend for the title in the second half of the season.
