Manchester City Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of November 10

Rob PollardNov 10, 2014

Manchester City's form has stuttered badly this season, and, for the first time, Manuel Pellegrini finds himself under a degree of media pressure.

The 2-2 draw at Loftus Road against Queens Park Rangers in their last match left them eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea after just 11 games, with their title defence in serious danger of an early collapse. Only a quick return to form after the international break will see them stay in touch.

It leaves the possibility of January acquisitions very much open, and with players also expected to leave, there could be significant column inches dedicated to transfer activity in the coming weeks.

Keep it here throughout the week, a roundup of all the news about comings and goings at the Etihad Stadium.

City Quoted £60 Million for Ross Barkley

1 of 3

According to Peter Spencer writing in the Manchester Evening News, City have been quoted a whopping £60 million fee for Everton and England midfielder Ross Barkley.

The question now is whether City will make a formal bid at the level Everton want, with the price now surely set to be a stumbling block.

Barkley is an outstanding player and looks capable of going on to become one of the most creative players in the Premier League, but with FFP still hanging over City, they may well baulk at the price being suggested on Merseyside.

Marco Reus Set to Snub City's Advances

2 of 3

According to Neil Moxley writing in the Daily Mirror, City are set to miss out on Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus, a player thought to be high on the club's wish list.

City were preparing to put together a large package to tempt the German, who has a release clause set at about £20 million, but it is now thought he could remain in his homeland.

Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain Under Pressure

3 of 3

And with City's form becoming a worry, Txiki Begiristain, the club's director of football, and Ferran Soriano, the CEO, could well find themselves under increasing scrutiny from Sheikh Mansour when he conducts his annual review, according to Simon Mullock in the Mirror.

The former Barcelona pair oversee City's transfer strategy and the day-to-day running of the club off the field, and with question marks over the club's recruitment becoming more pronounced, they could face difficult questions in the summer.
