Chris Broussard Reports LeBron James Won't Allow Sons to Play Football
ESPN’s Chris Broussard offered up a casual observation Sunday night, tweeting his surprise regarding LeBron James' alleged decision to forbid his sons from playing football.
According to Broussard, James told him Friday that he only allows basketball, baseball and soccer in his house.
James' alleged decision marks another American sports superstar coming out as anti-football in regard to his children's athletic future.
Future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre has said before that he'd be hesitant to let his son play, for multiple reasons.
"It's a violent sport," Favre told WDAM in Mississippi (h/t Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk) in June. "And for two reasons I don't know if I'd let him play. The pressures to, you know, live up to what your dad had done, but most importantly the damage that is done by playing. I don't know if I would let him play."

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and former New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott have also gone on the record as not wanting their kids to play football.
James' athletic past includes a high school football career that ended after his junior year at St. Vincent-St. Mary's in Akron, Ohio. He stuck with basketball despite dazzling reports from high school football scouts hoping he would stay on the gridiron.
