Vince McMahon Sets Survivor Series Stipulation
WWE chairman Vince McMahon made a surprising return to WWE programming during Monday's edition of Raw. Vinnie Mac received a huge reaction from the crowd, and he made his presence felt by announcing that the Authority's power would be at stake in the Team Authority vs. Team Cena Survivor Series match.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Will the Teams Shake Out?
With Triple H and Stephanie McMahon being placed in a difficult position by Vince, they must put together the best squad possible. The original plan called for Seth Rollins, Kane and Randy Orton to anchor the team, but that was obliterated when the Viper went rogue against the Authority. That leaves the Game in a predicament, as he must now find three additional partners to make up the quintet.
As for John Cena, his recruitment stalled on Monday because he did not appear on Raw. He signed up Dolph Ziggler the previous week, with the Showoff eventually accepting the invitation by turning down Triple H's advancements. Cena figures to kick the tires on some additional partners during the next episode of Raw, but the Authority is making life difficult with threats of punishing anyone who decides to fight alongside Cena.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Based on the events of Raw, it seems likely that both Mark Henry and Rusev will be part of Team Authority. Since they are feuding with Big Show and Sheamus respectively, conventional wisdom suggests that those two Superstars will be part of Team Cena. That leaves one available spot on each team.
As far as Team Cena is concerned, Ryback looks like a strong option. He has garnered plenty of crowd support since returning, and placing him in the main event would help his development immensely.
Since Triple H's power is in jeopardy, it would make sense for him to entrust himself by returning to the ring to captain Team Authority. The King of Kings is one of the all-time greats, and he would give his team a fighting chance.
It will be interesting to see if Cena will be forced to put anything on the line, such as his shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but this new stipulation increases interest significantly. Fans also can't help but wonder if there are some ulterior motives behind Vince's decision.

Randy Orton Written Off TV Via Injury Angle
WWE has been teasing dissension within the ranks of the Authority for quite some time. Randy Orton has been at the forefront of that due to his disdain for Rollins. Things came to a head a couple of weeks ago on Raw when Mr. Money in the Bank Curb Stomped the Apex Predator. History repeated itself Monday, but this time Rollins crushed Orton's skull on some steel steps.
Question on Everybody's Mind: When Will the Viper Return?
Orton was granted a match against Rollins by Triple H in exchange for the promise that he would join Team Authority at Survivor Series. That went awry after the Viper lost to Rollins and attacked several Authority members. Orton even punched Triple H, which resulted in him telling Rollins to finish Orton off with a Curb Stomp on the steps.
The former architect of the Shield obliged, meaning Orton's status is now very much up in the air. In reality, Orton needed some time off in order to participate in the filming of The Condemned 2. That means the Viper figures to be out of action for at least a couple weeks and could potentially miss Survivor Series. With that said, WWE could still pull off a swerve by involving him in some way, especially since the pay-per-view will take place in his hometown of St. Louis.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Orton is certainly going to have it out for The Authority when he does come back, so it would make sense for him to do something at Survivor Series. Many have speculated that the Viper could be a late addition to Team Cena, but that means he would either have to return on the go-home edition of Raw or be billed as a mystery partner. The former would be an awfully quick turnaround, while the latter would be a bit too obvious. Therefore, Orton interfering is the best option.
A well-timed RKO to Rollins or Triple H could be the deciding factor in Cena's team going over and knock the Authority from its pedestal. That scenario would firmly establish Orton as a top face, and it would lead to an intriguing angle regarding the Authority and where it goes from there. Orton is more interesting now than he has been in quite some time, and WWE has to do everything possible to capitalize on that.

RRR Interview with ROH's Matt Sydal
Matt Sydal is one of the most exciting wrestlers in the world today, and he is once again taking the independent wrestling scene by storm. As a key figure in Ring of Honor, as well as a handful of other indy promotions, Sydal is putting on great match after great match. The former WWE Superstar stopped by Ring Rust Radio to discuss the evolution of his career.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What's Next for Sydal?
Sydal has had a large fan following dating back to his original stint in ROH and his involvement with cult favorite Wrestling Society X. There is no question that his popularity reached another level in 2008, though, when he became a member of WWE's active roster. As Evan Bourne, Sydal captivated audiences with his breathtaking aerial maneuvers.
He experienced a great deal of success in wrestling's biggest company, and he even managed to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships with Kofi Kingston as one half of Air Boom. Unfortunately, suspensions and injuries derailed his WWE run, but he is clearly back on track since his release from the promotion in June.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Although Sydal is no longer a WWE Superstar, he is arguably doing some of the best work of his impressive career. Sydal has worked with the likes of Ricochet and Chris Hero, and he has become one of the main attractions on the independent scene. His exciting brand of wrestling was always on display in WWE, but he has been able to let loose even more without the restrictions of the so-called WWE style.
There is no doubt that ROH and other similar companies fit Sydal's style perfectly, but he had nothing bad to say about his time in WWE. While he didn't rule out a return to WWE or a run in TNA, Sydal made it clear that he is enjoying what he has going currently.
At 31 years of age, Sydal is still very young from a wrestling perspective, and there is plenty left for him to accomplish. Regardless of where he decides to compete, he has the ability to steal the show and send the fans home happy on any given night.
