Chelsea Transfer News: Paul Pogba Deals Long-Term Blow to Jose Mourinho
Paul Pogba has admitted he wants to become a Juventus legend after inking a new contract with the club, severely harming Jose Mourinho's reported aspirations of taking the midfielder to Chelsea.
Pogba recently committed his future to the Turin-based side until at least 2019, as reported by BBC Sport. He is looking to achieve great personal success during his time in Serie A, as reported by football writer David Amoyal:

Chelsea were said to be hunting Pogba's signature, as reported by Alex Richards of the Daily Mirror. In July, Mourinho admitted the player had caught his attention during the 2014 World Cup, as noted by the Portuguese boss in his Yahoo Global Football Ambassador's role (reported by Anthony Chapman of the Daily Express): "I would say Pogba has been the best young player, because he had a good World Cup despite the fact his team didn't reach the last four. I think he showed that he is a big player for the next World Cup."
The 21-year-old appears a natural fit for the Premier League and has unfinished business with the division after being released by Manchester United. Since exiting in 2011, the powerful Frenchman has developed into arguably the world's most complete midfielder in his age group.
He is quick, a dogged tackler, clever in possession and able to score stunning goals, all reasons why he could become football's first £100 million player, as noted by B/R UK's Sam Tighe:
Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail believes Pogba is the "natural successor" to Yaya Toure at Manchester City.
Mourinho is right to have eyed him for Chelsea, however, as he offers the kind of well-rounded quality we have come to expect from current Blues star Nemanja Matic. Pogba is naturally more comfortable on the ball and fits the powerful/athletic archetype Mourinho loves to employ.
Massimiliano Allegri will certainly be pleased with his starlet's comments. Pogba has scored two and assisted one in 12 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League this season. He averages 2.3 tackles, 1.9 attempts at goal and 2.4 successful dribbles each match, per WhoScored.com, highlighting his ability to contribute in all phases of play.

He is the type of player Juventus can build their squad around for the next decade. Considering Arturo Vidal's future continues to draw speculation, he is destined to become an even more important cornerstone of Allegri's team.
Pogba has the potential to be a future captain for club and country. Juve CEO Giuseppe Marotta recently said the player "has everything it takes to write history" for the Bianconeri, as reported by Sky Italia (via Football Italia).
This is likely to come to fruition across the next few years.
Chelsea would undoubtedly be candidates for Pogba's transfer if he ever becomes available due to the club's financial standing and prospects of success. Mourinho is always on the lookout for leaders who can contribute in the present and the future, but Pogba appears to have given his heart to the Old Lady as he heads toward the peak of his career.
