Josh McCown to Start Week 10 for Buccaneers in Place of Mike Glennon
In a bit of a surprising move, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will turn back to Josh McCown at quarterback against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.
Mike Glennon, who has started the last five games under center, confirmed the news, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
As many were quick to point out, such as Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke and 4for4.com's John Paulsen, it's a perplexing decision from head coach Lovie Smith and his staff:
Perhaps the Bucs, who signed McCown to a two-year deal worth $10 million in the offseason, don't want to see their investment completely go to waste. Perhaps they feel McCown, who was replaced Week 3 after tearing a ligament in his thumb, deserves another opportunity to prove himself. Remember, Glennon was drafted by Tampa Bay's old regime, while McCown was signed by the current one.
But based on the way each player has looked in 2014, it's difficult to craft an argument supporting McCown over Glennon.
Take a look at each player's stats thus far:
| Mike Glennon | 57.6 | 236.2 | 7.0 | 10/6 | 4.9/3.0 | 83.3 |
| Josh McCown | 63.2 | 140.0 | 6.2 | 2/4 | 2.9/5.9 | 65.8 |
It's not as though Glennon has thoroughly and convincingly taken the job, but he has certainly performed better than McCown. He has also been rock solid down the stretch of games, as Yahoo Sports' Scott Pianowski illustrated:
Moreover, at 1-7 the Bucs have to be thinking about the future. McCown was impressive last season, but just over two games was enough to make him look like a product of Marc Trestman's system in Chicago. At 35 years old, he's not the future.
Glennon may not be, either. But he's in just his second season and has been developing a nice rapport with talented rookie receiver Mike Evans. It would seem beneficial for the Bucs to continue to roll him out there.
This probably won't be the last quarterback change we see from the Bucs this season, but it's another indication that Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston and other top QB prospects should probably start checking out the housing listings in Tampa Bay.
