Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, Martavis Bryant's Post-Week 9 Fantasy Reaction

Chris RolingNov 2, 2014

In what has been a surprisingly explosive couple of weeks for the Pittsburgh Steelers' aerial attack, Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant once again feasted from a fantasy standpoint in a 43-23 Week 9 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Funnily enough, it was Brown who was actually the quietest through three quarters of play thanks to seven catches for 62 yards.

Both Wheaton and Bryant found pay dirt in that same time span to turn in strong performances for the owners brave enough to give them a start.

Brown's status as a matchup-proof WR1 is not going anywhere, folks. The man has a minimum of five receptions in each game so far this season and has only once failed to reach double-digit points. He will not be obtainable via trade, nor should owners even dream of letting him go.

This was never better exemplified than on a 54-yard touchdown catch by Brown in the final frame. All things considered, Brown once again rose to the top:

M. Bryant3442516

Things get tricky with the names behind Brown, though.

Wheaton's lone double-digit outputs have come in each of the past two weeks, while Bryant had two entering the contest. The problem is, not only are the two heavily reliant on a strong matchup—Baltimore entered Sunday allowing the seventh-most points to receivers—they also eat into each other's snaps at the No. 2 spot.

Ben Roethlisberger is not going to continue on this pace, so neither should rotational receivers. Both Wheaton and Bryant are touchdown-reliant producers, which is quite the dangerous way to live for owners.

Wheaton and Bryant are actually rather sound sell-high options if a deal presents itself. They are worth a flier if owners are desperate, but it will take a scary-good matchup to start one of the two outright.
