WWE SmackDown Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from October 31
The Devil's Favorite Demon, the Eater of Worlds and a Trick-or-Street Fight awaited fans as they tuned into SyFy Network for this week's very special Halloween edition of SmackDown!
Kane, the Corporate Demon, squared off with Dolph Ziggler as he attempted to right the wrong that was The Showoff's upset victory on Raw. With Seth Rollins, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble watching at ringside, the Big Red Monster caught Ziggler in a chokeslam and finished him off, bringing his week to a painful conclusion.
Bray Wyatt had some choice words for Dean Ambrose, whom he will meet one-on-one at Survivor Series. He made mention of the mask that he believes the Lunatic Fringe wears and also brought up "she," perhaps referring to Sister Abigail.

Triple H Responds to Fan Criticism 🤷
Speaking of Ambrose, he and Cesaro squared off in a wild, chaotic and tremendously entertaining Trick-or-Street Fight to cap off the show. The unstable Superstar utilized a candy corn-colored kendo stick, pumpkins and his trademark Dirty Deeds finisher to put the King of Swing away.
But did Kane, Wyatt or Ambrose make this week's list of biggest winners and losers from SmackDown?
Let's check it out.

Winner: AJ Lee
The Divas champion sat in on commentary this week during the Divas Costume Battle Royal and, like her real-life husband, CM Punk, had a number of sarcastic remarks for her fellow female competitors. One in particular, though, earned her a spot in this week's article as a winner.
As Rosa Mendes came through the curtain, Michael Cole informed the viewers that the she was dressed as a zombie nurse. It was then that AJ chimed in, equating Rosa's costume to a used bandage.
Why that comment struck this writer the way it did is still unknown, but it did, maybe because it showed that, outside of the manufactured crazy persona, there is actual potential to let AJ talk again, to be witty and sarcastic and form a bond with fans in that manner, something she has not been allowed to do much of since returning back in June.

Loser: Heath Slater
So not only did everyone's favorite One Man Rock Band decide on the super lame scarecrow costume for Halloween, he also found himself trapped in the ring with Ryback. There was no place to run and no place to hide, and Slater only made matters worse for himself when he tricked the Big Guy with a fake hand.
Ryback responded with a spinebuster and Shellshock, putting a damper on Slater's Halloween and continuing to climb his way back up the ladder in WWE.
"If I only had a brain" is what the Scarecrow sang in the iconic film, The Wizard of Oz. For Slater, using his and escaping the beating at the hands of Ryback probably would have been a much more preferable way to spend his Friday night.

Winner: The Authority
On Monday night, The Authority was shocked that anyone would even consider John Cena's proposal to join his team at the Survivor Series. It was even more shocked when it was revealed that the person Cena had pitched the idea to was WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler. The powerful faction tried to punish The Showoff but watched in dismay as he managed to upset Kane then stand side-by-side with Cena.
Friday night, there was no backup for Ziggler, who was beaten by the Big Red Monster and assaulted by Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury. Kane then further added insult to injury by booking him against Seth Rollins. Mr. Money in the Bank delivered a vicious Curb Stomp and picked up the win as The Authority celebrated the apparent demise of IC champion.

Loser: Cesaro
By the time the former United States champion rose to his feet with a pumpkin on his head while stumbling around in the ring, all credibility the Swiss Superman had prior to this week was erased. It is not like he has a great deal of it left anyway, but whatever shred of it he did have was nonexistent by night's end—along with his dignity.
How WWE Creative takes a look at a guy like Cesaro and says, "I see him with a pumpkin on his head," then books that very scenario, is a mystery. The guy has repeatedly proved himself to be one of the best workers in the industry. Sure, would it be nice to see some more personality from the former indy darling? Absolutely. But there are far better ways to go about eliciting it than by portraying him to be a stumbling, bumbling fool.
If the 2002 Halloween special had featured John Cena in a similar position rather than taking advantage of his very real ability to freestyle rap, the WWE that we know today would be a much different one.
