Bray Wyatt Costs Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins engaged in one of the year's best matches at Hell in a Cell, throwing caution to the wind and doing everything possible to put on a fantastic performance. Just when it seemed as though Ambrose was on the verge of winning, Bray Wyatt shockingly interfered and allowed Rollins to escape with the victory.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Does Wyatt's Involvement Make Sense?

Wyatt had been kept off television for several weeks in the wake of getting dominated—alongside Luke Harper and Erick Rowan—by John Cena on an episode of Raw. A number of vignettes teasing Wyatt's eventual return aired in the weeks leading up to Hell in a Cell, and it was quite apparent that WWE had big plans for the Eater of Worlds. That was proven true when he made his presence felt in the main event of the pay-per-view.

WWE largely dropped the ball with its booking of Wyatt from WrestleMania XXX onward. After falling to Cena at the biggest show of the year, Wyatt struggled to regain the momentum he had previously built. Thrusting him into a feud with one of WWE's fastest-rising stars in Ambrose could be precisely what Wyatt needs in order to get back on track, but there is no question that it creates a tricky situation in terms of deciding who should go over.

Ring Rust Radio's Take

Wyatt is hugely popular due to his eerie character and unique promo ability, but he has his drawbacks as well. He isn't particularly good in the ring, and while Ambrose should be able to carry the load in that regard, there is reason to be concerned about the match quality between these two opponents. In addition to that, the initial explanation for Wyatt targeting WWE's Lunatic Fringe is flimsy at best.

The diabolical Wyatt claimed on Raw that he went after Ambrose because he reminds him of himself. Perhaps he will elaborate on that in the coming weeks, but the fact that Wyatt's promos are so cryptic means that fans may never truly understand the logic behind this rivalry. Above all else, though, Wyatt's involvement at Hell in a Cell overshadowed a spectacular match and the best feud in wrestling, so one can't help but question that decision.

John Cena Earns Right to Face Brock Lesnar

In what was billed as the Hell in a Cell co-main event, John Cena defeated Randy Orton to become No. 1 contender for Brock Lesnar's WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Cena has already faced the Beast on two occasions over the past couple months, and he will now have another opportunity to regain WWE's biggest prize.

Question on Everybody's Mind: When Will This Match Happen?

While many fans were worried that Cena and Orton would go on last at Hell in a Cell in favour of Ambrose vs. Rollins, WWE decided to place this match in the middle of the card. It was likely difficult for many fans to truly get interested, but the No. 1 contender stipulation added a bit of intrigue. When push came to shove, though, Cena came out on top once again, which was essentially a vote of confidence for the status quo.

Cena vs. Lesnar for a third time this year may not sound overly appealing, but many will likely be happy to see the Conquerer back in the fold. Lesnar hasn't been seen since Night of Champions, and that means the title has been absent as well. The big question now relates to when Cena and Lesnar will lock horns. Survivor Series is already out of the question, since Cena will captain a team to face the Authority in a traditional elimination match, which means either TLC or Royal Rumble are the likeliest options.

Ring Rust Radio's Take

While there has seemingly been a lot of speculation regarding Royal Rumble being the destination for Cena vs. Lesnar, there aren't any concrete facts to back it up. Truth be told, that line of thinking likely has to do with the fact that Royal Rumble is the next major pay-per-view on the calendar. The Rumble is a big sell no matter what due to the Royal Rumble match itself, which means it would make a lot more sense to have that match at TLC.

Although TLC can be an entertaining pay-per-view, it doesn't have the must-buy factor that Royal Rumble does. Having Cena and Lesnar headline that event in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match could very well change that. The best encounter between Cena and Lesnar came in a hardcore-style match at Extreme Rules 2012. Their last two battles have left something to be desired, but putting them in an environment without any rules is precisely what is needed in order to freshen up their rivalry.

RRR Interview with Jim Ross

There have been many influential figures in the history of professional wrestling, but few can measure up to WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross. In addition to being perhaps the greatest broadcaster the sport has ever seen, Ross was also responsible for signing many of the biggest stars in WWE over the past two decades. JR has kept busy since leaving WWE, but he took some time out of his schedule to sit down with Ring Rust Radio and discuss the past, present and future of the wrestling business.

Question on Everybody's Mind: What's Next for JR?

No matter what Ross does in or out of the wrestling business moving forward, there is no question that he will always be best remembered as the voice of WWE's Attitude Era. Many current wrestling fans grew up with JR as their play-by-play man of choice, and his memorable calls ensure that he will always be remembered fondly.

With that said, there are many who feel as though he didn't always receive his proper due in WWE. There has also been plenty of controversy regarding his departure from the company, but Ross insists that his relationship with WWE chairman Vince McMahon is still positive.

"

It's actually pretty good. We text from time to time and talk on the phone from time to time now. Not a lot, not regularly, but you know, it's fine. Vince and I got along and had a tremendous relationship. ... A lot of that stuff about McMahon and I has been blown out of proportion. He knows I take myself too seriously. He knows I wear my feelings on my sleeve, and he likes to be able to get under my skin. He gets a kick out of it and I can understand that, I get it.

No one should mistake what I am saying [as meaning] we talk regularly because we do not. But we still communicate, like have a few laughs in a text message or special occasions come up. We accomplished a great deal together.

"

Ross clearly harbors no ill will toward WWE or McMahon, and he seems extremely happy with his current enterprises, such as The Ross Report on Podcast One and his line of barbecue sauces, JR's BBQ.

Ring Rust Radio's Take

While Ross isn't currently involved with professional wrestling commentary, he is still putting his gift of storytelling to good use. JR recently called a Battlegrounds MMA event with former UFC star Chael Sonnen, and he intends to do more of that in the future.

"

Chael and I will be doing more MMA together. We are actually getting inquires on MMA and boxing. We have agents and representatives that are having talks, and I have the sense were going to be doing a lot of things together. We like working together, and we have great chemistry together.

"

Ross is a wrestling guy at heart, but his knowledge for other sports such as MMA, boxing and football make him a great announcer across several different mediums.

There is undoubtedly a large group of wrestling fans who miss hearing JR's voice, but between his podcast and burgeoning MMA announcing career, he is still very much at the forefront.
