Arsenal's visit to Borussia Dortmund is undoubtedly the pick of the matches as the Champions League returns on Tuesday.
Both sides would likely have preferred an easier start to their respective campaigns but it is sure to be a terrific encounter.

Form with Dortmund

Both the Bundesliga and the Premier League are only in their early stages, but Dortmund look to be going into Tuesday's match with better form having won their last two league games.
After an opening-day loss to Bayer Leverkusen, Jurgen Klopp's side beat Augsburg 3-2 away from home and Freiburg 3-1 at the weekend, a game in which the returning Shinji Kagawa bagged a goal, per Sky Germany's Jan Aage Fjortoft:
Meanwhile, Arsenal played well against Manchester City on Saturday but ultimately were held to a 2-2 home draw and they only took a point away to newly-promoted Leicester before the international break.
The Germans have the home advantage and will look to prey on a Gunners defence with very little back-up after the injuries to Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Debuchy, per the Daily Telegraph's Jeremy Wilson:
However, the Bundesliga side are suffering their own injury crisis of late, with Marco Reus, among others, set to miss out, according to Klopp, per Simon Johnson in the Evening Standard:
"You are right about the incredible injury woes we suffered. And there has been no real let-up as we are without players like Nuri Sahin, Oliver Kirch, Ji, Ilkay Gundogan, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Marco Reus at the moment.
"
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will likely be concerned with the recent poor form of Mesut Ozil, although Jack Wilshere's fine performance against City is a cause for Arsenal optimism, per the Mirror's John Cross:
Thus, Tuesday's encounter is a very difficult game to call with both sides having problems, but Dortmund's recent form and home advantage makes them favourites.
Group Rivals

Tuesday's game is likely going to be of vital importance to the outcome of Group D and both coaches—especially Wenger—will be well aware of the importance of topping the pool.
The other teams in the group are Galatasaray and Anderlecht, meaning Arsenal and Dortmund should be the two teams to go through to the knockout rounds.
Last season, Klopp's side topped the group on goal-difference, went on to meet Zenit St. Petersburg in the last 16 and made it through to the quarter-finals.
Due to their second-place group finish to Dortmund, Arsenal drew Bayern Munich in the first knockout round and subsequently went out of the tournament.
The same team knocked the Gunners out at the same stage in 2013 when Arsenal came second in their group to Schalke, and in the 2010-11 season, Wenger's side went out to Barcelona in the last 16 having been runners-up to Shakhtar Donetsk.
A loss to Dortmund on Tuesday would put Arsenal immediately on the back foot in terms of topping the group, thus Wenger must set up to get at least a point at Signal Iduna Park.
An opening defeat could set them on the road to repeating past mistakes which have seen the Gunners consistently fail to genuinely compete for Europe's top prize since reaching the semi-finals in 2009.
