Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 Results: Most Shocking Moments of Thrilling Rematch
Floyd Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king, proved why he owns that title once more on Saturday night, defeating Marcos Maidana by unanimous decision and improving his career record to an improbable 47-0. The rematch looked virtually nothing like the first bout these fighters endured back in May. Mayweather's footwork looked crisp, and Maidana's ferocious onslaught was thwarted in consequence.
Money controlled the fight throughout, keeping his opponent in the center of the ring and using his superior athleticism and movement to avoid being caught against the ropes. Maidana's accuracy issues were still abundant, but his lack of attempted shots due to Mayweather's strategy never really allowed him to contend this time around.

ESPN Stats & Info tweeted a telling statistic, comparing El Chino's strikes between his two fights with Money:
Maidana was visibly frustrated throughout the match. His signature overhead right wasn't connecting, and he wasn't damaging the champ. In the eighth round, his frustration may have gotten the best of him, as Mayweather quickly exclaimed to the referee, Kenny Bayless, that he was bitten on the glove.
The fight's greatest debate emerged from this situation, as there wasn't any conclusive evidence. Everyone began to ask a question tweeted by Showtime Sports:
Maidana said he didn't bite Money, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN.com:
Conversely, Mayweather spoke of the incident during a post-fight interview, showing his fingers to the camera, via SportsCenter:
ESPN analyst Skip Bayless summed the situation up pretty well:
Regardless of what actually happened, the fight continued, but it didn't take long for Maidana to show his frustration once more. After the alleged bite, fighters were warned several times about extracurricular activities during the fight.
In the 10th round, El Chino forced Money to the canvas, drawing a timeout from the referee. The challenger was eventually docked a point for the action, via Mayweather Promotions:
While the fight was well out of hand for Maidana at that point, he did begin to assert himself in Round 10, gaining momentum with some aggressive strikes. However, the deducted point not only kept him from winning the round but stalled any previous momentum he may have gained.
Needing a knockout heading into the final two rounds, Maidana attempted to go on the attack, but Mayweather's movement, defense and ability to counter were simply too much, as he took the victory by a score of 115-112, 116-111 and 116-111.
Perhaps one of the bout's most shocking moments came after the event was completed. During a post-fight interview, Mayweather alluded to the possibility of a superfight with Manny Pacquiao, via FightNights.com:
We'll have to wait and see if this fight comes to fruition. Mayweather has two fights left on his contract with Showtime, and a bout with Pacquiao would undoubtedly appeal to the masses. However, a more likely opponent may be Amir Khan.
Khan already began talking about a potential fight with the champ, via Jeff Powell of Mail Online, and he appeared confident as ever, "Floyd is looking older and slowing down. I don't just want to fight him for the money, I want to beat him. I believe my speed would do for him right now."
Will Khan get his chance, or will Mayweather finally take on Pacquiao? That's next up for debate.
