We already know Mayweather is the highest-paid athlete in the world, per Forbes Magazine. Well, the rich just got a lot richer, making just shy of $900,000 per minute. Maidana didn't fare so bad, either, racking up $3 million for his efforts, via Bryan Armen Graham of Mic:

Here's a look at the work Money put in for his big paycheck, via Andy Glockner of The Cauldron:

Maidana was a little more calculated with his approach in Round 1. He didn't come out with a flurry of shots as he did the last time around. However, that could be attributed to Mayweather's brilliant footwork and movement. Money took control of the center of the ring and didn't allow El Chino to catch him against the ropes.

Mayweather continued to dance around his challenger in the second round; although, Maidana showed an improved jab with slightly better accuracy. Still, Mayweather landed a few crisp shots, drawing a roar from the crowd on each occasion.

In Round 3, Maidana began to show more aggression, attacking Mayweather with a mix of jabs and overhand shots. This strategy didn't exactly work out for the challenger, as Money's lightning-quick counter found its mark.

Maidana completely changed his strategy in Round 4, pinning Mayweather against the ropes and working the champ's body. Money continued to roll away from most punches, but it was still a far better round than what El Chino was able to put together previously.

Both fighters exchanged jabs in the center of the ring in the fifth round, as Mayweather looked to keep the fight in the middle, and Maidana aimed to back Money up against the ropes. El Chino's attempts failed and he was unable to keep up his same production from one round prior.

Money continued to show off his defense in Round 7. This was prevalent in the fighters' stats at the bout's halfway point, with Mayweather landing 44 percent of jabs and Maidana just 17 percent. At this time, the fight was clearly in the champions' favor.

In the eighth round, things got a bit chippy, as Mayweather claimed to the referee that Maidana bit his glove. Beforehand, Money found some holes in Maidana's defense, landing a bevy of scoring blows and seemingly winning another round.

According to Mayweather, the alleged bite hindered him for the remainder of the match, via Showtime Sports:

Maidana continued his attempt to find his way inside Mayweather's defenses in Round 9; however, the champ used his jab as a very effective counter to that approach. This set up a big uphill climb for the challenger as we entered the championship rounds.

In Round 10, Maidana was deducted one point after pushing Mayweather down after several warnings from the referee. That proved to be highly detrimental for the challenger, as he began to attack Money in the corner with a flurry of shots to the body.

Maidana attempted to continue that trend in the following round; however, Mayweather kept up his defense and held the challenger whenever possible. It was apparent Money was simply looking to avoid further damage and ride out the remainder of the fight.

The final round brought about a plethora of activity from Maidana. He knew he needed a knockout to earn a victory and swung wildly at the champ; however, Mayweather continued to fend off his challenger in the corner. After waiting it out, the final bell sounded, and Money successfully defended his title once more and improved his career record to 47-0.

Mayweather wasn't overly enthusiastic about his performance on Saturday night, via SportsCenter:

With two fights remaining on his contract, what's next for Money? During a post-fight interview, via FightNights.com, he alluded to a potential superfight against Manny Pacquiao:

That's been something everyone's wanted to see for quite some time now; however, with each passing day it seems more unlikely we ever will. On the other hand, after his last fight with Maidana, Mayweather spoke of a rematch—and he came through. We'll just have to wait and see.
