Manchester City Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of September 8

Rob PollardSep 8, 2014

The summer transfer window may have only just slammed shut, but speculation continues as to who Manchester City will be signing in the near future.

With UEFA's imposed spending restrictions set to be lifted if City can show their spending is being curbed, which it clearly has been this season, the club are likely to be aggressive in the market once again.

There are also a number of fringe players whose time at City is coming to an end. Speculation on their futures will remain until their exits are confirmed.

Here we gather together all the transfer talk in one handy place.

City Target £25 Million Marco Reus

1 of 1

According to a report by Paul Hetherington in the Daily Star, City are set to launch a £25 million move for Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus next year.

The 25-year-old is thought to have a buy-out clause in his contract, and Hetherington believes he is top of City's list of targets. Txiki Begiristain, City's director of football, is said to be working on a deal already.

UEFA sanctions, which limited City's net spend this season to £49 million, are expected to be lifted. The club will attempt to make Reus their next big signing. They face competition from Arsenal, though, who also covet the winger.
