Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 Fight Time: PPV Coverage Guide to Championship Rematch
After Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Rene Maidana battled in one of the better fights of the year, the two will compete again in a highly anticipated rematch.
Mayweather earned the victory in the first contest by a majority decision, moving to 46-0 in his storied career. However, this was an incredibly close match with judge Michael Pernick even believing the match was a draw. Luckily for the champion, the other two judges ruled it 116-112 and 117-111 in his favor.
This second competition should be even better with both sides knowing what to expect out of the opposition. Maidana should also come in with even more confidence after performing better against Mayweather than most have in the past.
Boxing fans will want to make sure they do not miss a second of the action in what should be a memorable event for all those involved. Here is everything you need to know to prepare yourself for the upcoming contest.

Undercard
| Leo Santa Cruz vs. Manuel Roman | Super Bantamweight |
| Miguel Vasquez vs. Mickey Bey | Lightweight |
| Alfredo Angulo vs. James De La Rosa | Middleweight |
| John Molina vs. Humberto Sosa | Light Welterweight |
Those paying money for the PPV will get a few interesting matches to hold them over before the start of the main event, although they do not add much to the overall card.
Leo Santa Cruz is attempting to prove he is one of the top young fighters in the world, building up a 27-0 record in his career with 15 knockouts. However, he still has few marquee wins on his resume, and the battle against Manuel Roman will not change that.
Roman has struggled in recent years and will be nothing more than just a steppingstone for Santa Cruz.
This is part of the reason ESPN's Dan Rafael thinks poorly of the undercard, something that has been a theme in the past few Mayweather fights:
Veterans Humberto Soto and John Molina should create an interesting fight, but there is little on the line in this matchup.
Overall, fans will be left waiting for the main event to come as soon as possible.
Main Event
When Maidana took on Mayweather the first time, he showed an aggressiveness that few others have ever displayed. He threw twice as many punches as his opponent, and it helped him get out to an early advantage.
Unfortunately, this ended up wearing him down for the later rounds, as he explained to Edward Chaykovsky of Boxing Scene:
"Yes. I did [get tired]. I came out strong the first six or seven rounds, and after that I had to take a break and catch my breath a little bit. I had to pace myself. I have to not get as anxious for this fight.
I'm just working on my distance control and a couple other minor changes. I've had a little more time to prepare for this fight so this time I'm going to be ready.
"
If he can be a bit more accurate with his shots, he will not need to throw as many punches. Still, he needs to be able to go after Mayweather to get the most out of his opportunity. Those who sit back and wait for something to happen usually go home with a loss.
On the other hand, Mayweather is not someone who usually gives a lot of rematches. Fans want to see it because the first one was close, but the undefeated champion knows how to learn from his mistakes and come out stronger than ever.

With his experience, he should be able to avoid dangerous positions and come through with his usual counterpunch that has led him to so much success in the past. If he can do that, he should be able to add another win to his impressive resume.
This battle is likely to be close, but fans should expect another Mayweather victory.
