Chancellor Comments on Playing in Super Bowl with Torn MCL
Wednesday, Feb. 4
NFL.com's Chris Wesseling provided details and comments from Chancellor, who spoke about his injury:
"The examination for that injury, which occurred in last Friday's practice, revealed a tear in his MCL, likely from a previous injury.
"
"There are some people that get injured and can't even play this game," Chancellor said, via the team's official website. "So you've got to be grateful for how you're feeling at the moment.
Shoot, my injury happened two days before the game and they told me I wasn't going to be able to play. They told me, 'Torn MCL and bone bruise.' I was mad. I was frustrated. But at the end of the day, I was able to play.

Chancellor Tweaks Knee in Practice
Friday, Jan. 30
ESPN's Ed Werder reported Chancellor is listed as probable for the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots:
Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo had more details on the apparent injury, which forced Chancellor to exit Friday's practice early:
Alongside Earl Thomas, Chancellor has helped to form arguably the best safety duo in the NFL for the Seahawks. The two-time Pro Bowler had an excellent season in 2014, finishing with 78 combined tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and six pass deflections.
He was named as the 65th-best player by the NFL Network on its list of the Top 100 Players of 2014, so the rest of the league has certainly noticed Chancellor. And no, it isn't easy being noticed on the Seattle defense with Thomas flying all over the field making plays and cornerback Richard Sherman blanketing opposing wideouts and getting underneath everyone's skin.
Chancellor's physicality and versatility are worthy of praise too. He's athletic enough to drop into coverage and make an impact, while he can also play closer to the line of scrimmage and make plays like an additional linebacker. His loss could be a tough one for the Seahawks to overcome if he can't play Sunday.

Without Chancellor on the field, the Seahawks' quest to repeat as Super Bowl champions would be in serious jeopardy.
