Senior Writer Status at B/R: Five Writers That Deserve the Title
Bleacherreport.com is the best sports network site of opinionated, dedicated fans or hopeful writers who want to succeed here and make a name for ourselves.
When we join Bleacherreport, we have one goal: to become the No. 1-ranked writer on the site. There are many steps you must take to achieve that goal.
The biggest step, however, is earning senior writer status.
Senior writing status is classified as the elite group of the site. All top-50 writers are in fact senior writers.
There are many advantages to the senior writing tag, whether opportunities on radio shows, being on the front page of the site daily, or becoming one of the more known figures to look up to.
Yet, I can guarantee you there are many other secrets that we don't know about.
It is tough to make the step from columnist to senior writer.
There are many deserving writers who should get the promotion.
However, I have come up with a list of five columnists who I feel are worthy of getting this tag soon enough.
5. Mike Kent- 73 articles written, 2,445 comments made , 176 fans
Mike is an interesting choice to put on the list; he has earned it however. Just having 176 fans alone is an accomplishment, especially with some senior writers not even cracking the 100 mark. The man is one of the best slideshow publishers on B/R and is certainly one of the top in baseball rankings.
4. Bob Cunningham- 105 articles written,1322 comments made, 2 AOTD, 75 fans
Bob Cunningham makes the list for his consistency of a writer in the NFL section. A top 20 NFL writer, he always comes up with new ideas to write about, especially his recent one regarding the defenses. You also have to mention his columns for the Philadelphia Eagles, which is one of the best here.
3. Sulayman- 25 articles, 3,121 comments made, 2 AOTD, 102 fans
For the people who don't follow Sulayman, you know him as the guy who has three different profile pictures every week. Well then, I say to you, start following him. In only three months he is a big voice in the B/R community, especially in the wrestling section. He has achieved 2 AOTD, where as some don't have one at the moment. Add his dedication to his pieces, and you'll see why he finds a way to get along with every member here. He is a saint!
2. Ray Bogusz- 41 articles, 2,203 comments made, 4 AOTD, 149 fans
My man Ray Bogusz. Ray is another vocal part of the wrestling community and has showed leadership skills during the tough times the group has faced. Even with only 41 articles, that shouldn't matter. He has showcased pieces that a normal senior writer would make. I'm sure he will reach this height soon!
1. Richard Marsh- 75 articles, 2,117 comments made, 3 AOTD, 113 fans
Well, what do you know. Vegas Rich earns the top spot on this list, with not many questions. Richard is one of the more passionate sport fans on the site when it comes to his beloved New York Mets. His series "Anatomy Of A Franchise: The New York Mets" is one of the best I have seen around. His pieces mainly being on baseball, you can see the dedication he gives to his work, as well as courtesy to other writer as well.
A common theme here? They all posses unique writing, along with qualities of leadership to other writers, while proving they are elite and that they belong with the top writers on the open source network.
