WWE Elimination Chamber 2014: Best Ways to Book Chamber Match at PPV
The final stop on the road to WrestleMania XXX is the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, and it will be incredibly intriguing, given its timing on the calendar.
The main event is the traditional Chamber match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship—with Randy Orton defending the championship against five other men.
With plenty of twists and turns ahead before WrestleMania, it is imperative the match is booked well on all levels to ensure some big momentum going into the biggest show of the year.
That doesn't just concern Orton. All five men need to come out of the match with something worthwhile moving toward Mania.
Let's take a look at the best ways to book this intriguing Chamber match.
Antonio Cesaro's Swing Must Be a Huge Spot
1 of 5
Arguably the biggest wild card in the entire match is Antonio Cesaro. One half of The Real Americans is a bit of a surprise entrant, but he can launch his career in this unique environment.
His patented swing maneuver is one of the most exciting moves in the WWE. It always draws a positive reaction from the crowd.
For a guy who is supposed to be part of a heel tag team, that indicates he has a big future ahead of him. Inside the Chamber, his swing should be used to full effect.
Using the swing with dramatic and exciting results would be the best and most creative way of booking Cesaro. We all know the guy will not win the match, so this seems the best way of going about things with the man from Switzerland.
If Orton Wins, Have Him Steal It
2 of 5
The chances of Randy Orton dropping the belt at the Elimination Chamber are pretty slim, but it is important he is booked in a way that gives him some vital momentum.
In all fairness, Orton is an excellent heel and has been a pretty good champion. The WWE is doing a good job in teasing fractions between Orton and Triple H, and having the champ lose on occasion is doing him no harm at all.
So, if Orton does retain at the Elimination Chamber, it should be done in a way that is perfect to his persona. Have him steal the win, or have him benefit from somebody's misfortunes. Perhaps that could be Daniel Bryan or even John Cena.
Whatever it is, and whichever way it is done, let Orton sneak away with the title rather than enjoy a dominant defense.
Time for Batista to Step Up to the Mark
3 of 5
It is highly likely that Randy Orton will leave the Elimination Chamber still the WWE World Heavyweight champion.
However, the way he is booked is imperative to his future in terms of WrestleMania. With Batista waiting in the wings for the winner of the Chamber match, it is important that we see some vital promo work.
There has been precious little in the way of that since The Animal returned to the company, and we now need to see him step up to the plate and deliver.
He has struggled to win the crowd over, so getting him involved with the Chamber match somehow would be a good way to launch him into the main event role the WWE is so keen for him to have.
Whether it is screwing Orton or simply leaving his mark on the match, Batista has to be involved.
Daniel Bryan Needs to Go the Distance
4 of 5
Daniel Bryan is by far the hottest guy in the WWE right about now. In fact, it's difficult to think of anyone who is anywhere near him at this moment in time.
It would have been a crime if the company had left Bryan out of this match. His approach in the ring makes it a perfect environment for Bryan's lively brand of wrestling to come to the fore.
The WWE needs to be smart and utilize the momentum he has inside the Chamber. Therefore, it is probably best if he adopts an iron man role and goes the distance.
Have him start out the match and go all the way to the end. Even if he loses to Orton, a 40-minute performance in the Chamber will only serve to increase the hype around Daniel Bryan.
Screw Bryan One Last Time
5 of 5
It seems bizarre that this would be considered a good way to book the Chamber match. After all, fans have spent the last year watching Daniel Bryan be continuously screwed over by Triple H and company.
However, it has increased Bryan's momentum and relationship with the fans. So with WrestleMania just around the corner, make it happen just one more time.
If Bryan is going to lose, there is no way the WWE will have him lose clean. It would do nothing for Bryan's momentum and WrestleMania plans. He has to be screwed out of it.
That could set up a showdown with Triple H at the biggest event of the year, or it could give Bryan a way back into the title picture at Mania.
For the good of the company, it has to happen this way.
