Conquering Triple H Would Put Daniel Bryan over the Top in WWE
Daniel Bryan's war against The Authority in WWE has been raging since the night after SummerSlam in 2013. It was on that edition of Raw that Triple H and the rest of the McMahon family officially endorsed Randy Orton as their pick to be the new face of the company.
Since that moment, Bryan has been fighting the odds and working overtime to not only battle The Authority, but also prove his worth as a main event Superstar.
However, the truth is that despite how many matches he wins or how much the crowd loves him, it's a win over Triple H that would make all the difference in the world for Bryan's career.

At this point, Daniel has done it all in terms of his current storyline. He beat John Cena and Orton for the company's top championship. He worked the main event of four straight pay-per-views and was heavily featured on WWE programming.
Bryan went from being a tag team wrestler with Kane to being what many fans felt was the next top guy.
With that said, there are two major goals left to accomplish for Bryan.
The first is to legitimately win the WWE World Championship. This does not mean that Daniel gets it for a few minutes or only 24 hours. Legitimately winning the championship means he should actually have a title reign. Only then will WWE have a true indication of just how much Daniel can contribute in terms of ratings and the ability to sell tickets.
The second goal for Bryan is to defeat Triple H. It's as simple as that.
This entire angle has been designed for The Game to be toppled. It's just another take on the classic tale of the mad dictator that is removed from power by an uprising from the people. Arrogance and complete disdain for those he governs has defined Triple H's run as WWE's primary authority figure on the air.
Those that follow him have all fallen in line with his way of thinking. Stephanie McMahon is obviously his closest accomplice. Her allegiance lies with her family and, right now, her husband definitely speaks for that family.
As long as her family's wishes are being met and her husband is on the same page, then she will stand by him despite how unjust he is. In fact, she is often as power-hungry as he is.
As the Director of Operations, Kane is basically Triple H's most dependable yes-man. The Big Red Monster may have traded in his mask for a business suit, but the fact is that he is just as dangerous now. Kane has bought into Hunter's ideology and is a servant of the machine.
Then, of course, there is Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox, the general managers for SmackDown and Raw. While each GM is constantly second-guessed and overruled by The Game, the truth is that they are both more than willing to go along with the program.
Since their jobs depend on their cooperation, Vickie and Brad are willing pawns to carry out Hunter's wishes on a weekly basis.
The Shield has acted as Triple H's unofficial security detail since last year. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose each have their own personalities and supposedly act as a collective without being led by anyone.
However, that has not stopped them from being used by The Cerebral Assassin whenever the need arises. They attack on command while Hunter sits back in the shadows.
While the angle with Bryan involves the entire Authority, it's Triple H that stands at the forefront. He is calling the shots, throwing his weight around and ruling WWE with an iron fist. He has once again become the company's top heel without having laced up his boots since 2013.
At some point, he must be defeated.
The only plausible payoff for fans that support Bryan and the talent that has suffered Hunter's wrath is to see Triple H taken down to size. Being overthrown by someone in the McMahon family or being removed by the company itself is not enough.
Triple H has to face Bryan in the ring and he has to lose. It has to happen.
If it does not, then all the work that has been done to get Daniel over could be a waste. Elevating him in the company and putting him on that main event level means nothing if he cannot eventually get a win over the man that has been trying to hold him down.
Triple H cannot have the last laugh. If he does, then Daniel's run is worthless. The crowd will only take him seriously as a top-tier performer if he can overcome the odds. That means defeating Triple H.
Only then will Bryan be put over the top. Only then will he truly succeed.
