British Open 2013 Leaderboard: Where Tiger Woods and Top Stars Stand on Day 4

Tiger Woods will look to reclaim his spot on top of golf's pantheon as he seeks the 2013 British Open crown.

Held without a major title since 2008, Woods remains in striking distance of breaking the drought at Muirfield during Sunday's fourth and final round. After sparring with Lee Westwood all of Saturday, Woods sits outside of the top spot, but his 15th career major is well within reach.

Of course, he isn't the only competitor at Muirfield. As Westwood looks to lock down his first major, reigning Masters champion Adam Scott lingers in the distance, while Angel Cabrera vies for his first British Open win.

Before breaking down each star's status, let's take a look at the leaderboard.

Can Woods finally return to glory?

The 37-year-old enters the last day one-under par on Scotland's difficult course. That's good enough for a second-place tie with Hunter Mahan, who also remains two strokes behind Westwood. Despite a bogey at No. 17, Woods remains in the thick of things.

Not only can he finally get the major monkey off his back, but he can also nail down another first by securing his first major victory after trailing for 54 holes.

And for those who enjoy some awkwardness, Golf Digest pointed out that Woods will be paired with Adam Scott, whose caddy Steve Williams used to work for Woods:

Needless to say, Tiger will be a huge focal point on Sunday. 

Adam Scott

Scott has played at par so far, which puts him in fourth place, just three shots behind Westwood leading up to the final day.

Not to be confused with Ben Wyatt, this Adam Scott is looking to erase the sour taste of fumbling the Open away last year, when he bogeyed on the last four holes. The 33-year-old Australian shook off the disappointment at The Masters and can further wash away the woes with a strong Sunday.

Angel Cabrera

Although he came close to getting back on the major scoreboard before falling to Scott in The Masters' sudden death playoff, Cabrera is four years removed from his last major victory.

The veteran enters the final day four shots behind Westwood, which keeps Cabrera alive and in striking distance of his first British Open crown. Cabrera watched Westwood and Woods duel for first on Saturday, but he quietly stayed afloat with a consistent performance. 

The 43-year-old has a knack for showing up in crunch time, and a win would solidify his place among golf's best. As ESPN's Justin Ray noted, a win would put Cabrera into prestigious company among golfers who have topped three different majors:

If Cabrera can remain consistent and take advantage of a few opportunities, there's a good chance he can scratch the British Open off his list for major victories.
