British Open Leaderboard 2013: Day 2 Real-Time Updates for All Leaders
After a wild start to the 2013 British Open, Day 2 on the leaderboard is make-or-break for many of the top players trying to get below the cut line.
The Open Championship can’t be won on the second day of the event, but it can certainly be lost on Friday if players lose their focus and don’t play smart golf.

Stars to Watch on Day 2
Phil Mickelson came into the British Open as one of the hottest players in the world after winning the Scottish Open and finishing second at the U.S. Open. He followed that up with a two-under-par 69 in the first round at Muirfield.
What makes the left-handed American so dangerous is his ability to stay away from trouble at major tournaments, and it is that consistent play that will make him a factor on Day 2. With just four birdies and two bogeys, Mickelson has remained on an even keel thus far.
While Mickelson’s short game has been better, his mid-range game has always been great. As long as he is patient and keeps the ball in the fairway, he will be in contention to win on Sunday.
Mickelson's quest should continue with a stellar second round.
Miguel Angel Jimenez
There is no player on the PGA Tour who enjoys himself more than Miguel Angel Jimenez. While that may distract some players, the veteran has found the happy medium that allows him to perform well while still finding time to enjoy himself.
After shooting a three-under-par 68 in the first round of the British Open, Jimenez has proven that he is a legitimate contender once again. He has finished in the top-15 four times at the Open Championship, including an impressive ninth-place finish in 2012.
While many have questioned how much he has left in the tank at age 49, it is his experience that will open the door for his best chance at a British Open victory in his career.
As long as he keeps hitting the ball on the fairway, Jimenez will have an excellent Day 2.
Zach Johnson
One of the biggest surprises of Day 1 was the stellar play of Zach Johnson.
Not only did he shoot a five-under-par 66 on Thursday, but his four birdies, one eagle and only one bogey helped catapult him to the top of the standings.
Johnson is one of the best pure ball-strikers in the field this year. With his incredible accuracy off the tee and fairway with all of his clubs, this is the kind of course that the former Masters champion loves so much.
If he can keep his short game going in the right direction, there is little doubt that Johnson will be looking to pad his stats on Friday to give himself a comfortable score heading into moving day.
