Will Cesc Fabregas Join Manchester United Following £25 Million Bid?
Sky Sports is reporting that Manchester United have tabled a £25 million pound bid for Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas.
United manager David Moyes has made it very clear in recent press conferences that he is looking to strengthen the midfield area of his side and Fabregas—a European Championship and World Cup winner— is a player that would improve almost any team in that area.
That being said, the former Arsenal man has been unable to solidify a place in the starting 11 since his return to the Nou Camp in 2011, having to give way to fellow countrymen Xavi, Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.
Rumors such as this one from the Daily Mail have been circling for almost a year that Cesc is frustrated in his second stint for the La Liga giants, and when rumors build for potential clubs he could go to, United always seem to be in the mix.
And why not?
Whilst being one of the biggest clubs in world football, Fabregas would walk into the starting midfield of the Red Devils.
Also, having played for Arsenal for so much of his career, the Premier League is far from unknown territory to him, so it won't take long to get used to the unique tempo and atmosphere of playing in England.
Though £25 million doesn't seem too much for a player of Cesc's caliber, you've got to consider his status at Barcelona right now—any team in the world will take notice when they're being offered that kind of money for a player who isn't always in your plans.
I'm not saying they'll definitely accept the bid, but it's not out of the question.
Then it comes down to just how happy Fabregas really is at his current club—the club that nurtured him like so many other world-class Spanish players before letting him move away and become the captain of Arsenal.
In a story very similar to that of Gerard Pique, his return to Barcelona seemed like the perfect fit for the next chapter of his career. But unlike Pique, it's not turned out exactly as planned.
But is it really bad enough for him to leave the club?
This potential move is almost fully dependent on Cesc Fabregas himself.
If he likes the prospect of leaving his home country once again to play every week in England, then Barca will probably comply and let him go.
However, there's still every chance that Cesc is settled and won't feel the the need to move anywhere.
