WWE WrestleMania 29 Card: Biggest Matches That Will Fail to Live Up to Hype
Not every match can steal the show at WrestleMania.
You couldn't possibly have huge matches one right after the other because the crowd would be completely burnt out after two hours. WWE always has buffer matches on pay-per-view. Generally they're Divas or tag-team matches. That's when you know it's OK to go to the bathroom, get something to eat or whatever else.
What the company and fans don't bargain for are the main-event matches that disappoint. Every year at WrestleMania, there are at least a couple of matches that underwhelm.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This year will be no different. While nothing will reach the 18-second Sheamus/Daniel Bryan train wreck of last year, there will be matches that fail to live up to the WrestleMania standard.
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk
Everybody loves The Undertaker. Everybody knows exactly what he's done for the business and how devoted he is. The Undertaker didn't have to come back for WrestleMania, but he did anyway.
His feud with CM Punk has been very good at creating a reaction from the fans and actually giving them a reason to boo Punk and want to see him get his butt kicked at WrestleMania.
In his last five WrestleMania appearances, The Undertaker has delivered either the match of the night, or one of the best.
Right now, though, you have to wonder what he can physically do. The Undertaker obviously has some health issues; otherwise he would have wrestled in at least another match since last year. In addition, he's looking a little heavier now than he has in recent years. Punk can help to carry him, but at what cost to the overall quality of the match.
This is not to say that Punk-Taker will completely bomb, but it will fail to reach the heights the Deadman has reached over the last five or so years at WrestleMania.
Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H
How many people are clamoring for a Brock Lesnar/Triple H rematch? Despite Paul Heyman's great promos, this match feels exactly like their previous match at SummerSlam, which was a No Disqualification match.
The stipulation for this one is pretty much the same (No Holds Barred), except Triple H's career is for sure on the line this time rather than this past summer when he gave a farewell speech and didn't get back in the ring for months.
That match at SummerSlam wasn't all that good to begin with. They tried to hype it up as a different kind of fight, a little closer to Lesnar/John Cena at Extreme Rules. But it just turned out to be like many other No DQ matches we've seen.
It's gonna be hard for these two to do something different this time around. Lesnar and Triple H will put on a solid match, but nothing that will have warranted all the time given to this rivalry.
Ryback vs. Mark Henry
This is one of the few matches on the card that seems genuinely intriguing. Ryback and Mark Henry haven't had a big feud and tons of matches on Raw and other PPVs already, so this is pretty fresh.
Plus, it's just two big, strong guys going right at one another. It's a very simple, yet effective strategy. With this match getting little hype in favor of the main-event matches, Ryback and the World's Strongest Man could very well put on the match of the night.
However, there's a good chance that this match could come to a disappointing conclusion that would ruin much of the previous action.
Ryback has Shellshocked two wrestlers at once, and there's no doubting how strong he is. When it comes to just one bigger guy, he has had trouble. Remember that Shellshock attempt on Tensai? How about the one on Paul Heyman?
Ryback's only going to get one chance to hit it on Mark Henry. If he fails, it's gonna really dampen what should be an otherwise entertaining match.
