Liverpool Transfer News: Wilfried Zaha Not Worth a High Price to Reds
Liverpool would be wise not to spend a large amount of money to sign Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha during the January transfer window, because the club needs an established Premier League scorer more than a young player with great potential.
Per the Daily Mail:
"England Under 21 star Wilfried Zaha will not be leaving Crystal Palace for anything less than £20million, the club's co-chairman Steve Parish has insisted.
Winger Zaha, 19, has emerged as the hottest property outside the Premier League this season and scouts from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been sent to watch him.

Even though Zaha has a bright future ahead of him, spending £20 million on a player with no Premier League experience isn't going to improve Liverpool in the short-term.
Zaha has scored four goals this year, including two in Crystal Palace's most recent Championship match on October 6 against Burnley. Crystal Palace are currently tied with Wolverhampton Wanderers for third place in the league table.
Liverpool can bring more established players to Anfield that will make a bigger impact on the team's success right away for less than it would take to sign Zaha, especially during the January window, when prices for all players are usually insanely high.
When you see good players such as Shinji Kagawa leave improving clubs such as Borussia Dortmund for £12 million during the summer transfer window, it's not hard to see why waiting until the summer to acquire more young talent is the best option for the Reds.
Liverpool would be better off continuing to develop the young players that the club already has in its squad, such as midfielder Nuri Sahin and winger Raheem Sterling. These players have star potential and must be given the opportunity to improve this season with regular playing time.
Buying young players from the Championship and putting them into high-pressure situations is always a risk, so Liverpool must not buy Zaha in January and instead focus on finding a veteran Premier League forward.
