20 Bold Speculations for the January Transfer Window
Two-and-a-half months from now, the new year begins and so does the next chance for any and all of our clubs to make the changes that they feel will give them the best chances of success.
Some will be great, some will be bad and some will surely leave our heads shaking for the next several months to follow at the least.
However, change is the one constant in football, and we all know that there is always going to be something new around the corner.
Whether it be an 11th-hour deal or a transfer that we all balk at for the amount of money spent, there are sure to be multiple interesting things to happen in January.
Although there is still plenty of time between now and then, here are some interesting things that just may come to pass when the transfer window opens its shutters once again.
Ashley Cole to Real Madrid or PSG
1 of 20Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has already turned down finishing his career at Stamford Bridge. It now looks as though the 32-year-old has two big options, according to FOXSports.com.
The first being newly paid to power club, Paris Saint Germain of France, or the second being the long-standing Spanish giants of Real Madrid.
Liverpool to Spend £30 Million on Their Front Line
2 of 20If there is anything that Liverpool needs more than a deadly finisher in the box, then it is something that no one else can figure out either.
With the club reportedly set to allow new manager Brendan Rodgers the freedom to spend what he was refused in the summer, there is a big chance that the club could spend some massive cash this January, according to Metro.
Manchester City Chase Daniele De Rossi, Again
3 of 20The African Nations Cup once again will claim Yaya Toure from Manchester City for the better part of the dead of winter.
Without him, Gareth Barry and Jack Rodwell will be the most likely candidates to fill the void as the box-to-box midfielder.
However, reports from Metro are that Manchester City are once again on the hunt for AS Roma's 29-year-old De Rossi and are heating up for another January chase.
Manchester United Sell Nani
4 of 20Nani has been a bad egg all season long for Manchester United. Not only has his contract talks frustrated the club, but so has his lackluster performances in general.
It looks like January could be the end of the Portuguese winger, and time for the Red Devils to move on from the one that never filled the boots of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Guardian claims that Juventus are the most likely suitors, but that is yet to be seen.
Chelsea Sell Daniel Sturridge
5 of 20Daniel Sturridge was one of the few players at Chelsea that were great under Andre Villas-Boas. However, he has never found his way under Roberto Di Matteo.
According to IBtimes, he looks to be the first one out of Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, and there are multiple clubs that would love to have him on board.
Theo Walcott Goes to Liverpool
6 of 20Liverpool need a more experienced winger that has speed and the class to cut inside and finish when needed. Arsenal's contract rebel Theo Walcott is just that and could be the current solution for not wanting to overuse Raheem Sterling and to offset the possible exit of Stewart Downing.
Arsenal Sign Javier Hernandez
7 of 20Arsenal have finally seen Olivier Giroud get his first goal for the club and start to move in the right direction.
However, after years of allowing the two clubs in Manchester take star after star, Arsene Wenger has been rumored to be convinced to make a run for one of their's with a move for United's Javier Hernandez according to the Guardian rumor mill.
QPR to Sign Another 'Old Guy'
8 of 20Lets see, who are the guys over 32 years of age that Mark Hughes is likely to try and bring to London in the winter transfer window?
Lord only knows, but more than likely there will be a rather "out-of-his-prime" new face at Loftus Road before the end of January.
Crystal Palace Cheerleaders Make Viral Video to Start Wilfried Zaha Bidding War
9 of 20Bless Crystal Palace for their foray into "sex sells" marketing. There is no telling how many tickets are sold each week for the chance to stare at the "Crystals."
Aside from that, although the club don't truly want to see Wilfried Zaha, a viral video from the lovely ladies in red and blue to promote the youngster's name could see his anticipated price skyrocket even more through additional name recognition.
David Villa Leaves Barcelona
10 of 20FC Barcelona lost David Villa for the majority of last season thanks to a broken leg suffered at the World Club Cup.
He may have made a full recovery, but, with his age starting to advance, there is a major chance he could be sold while his value is still high, and allow the youngsters to take over through the summer.
Darren Bent to Hit the Road Again

According to multiple sources, he is thought to be heading to Liverpool, or anywhere but the first team at Villa Park.
Mario Balotelli Gets Shipped Back to Italy on Loan
12 of 20As posted on multiple sites, as well as the Liverpool Echo, Mario Balotelli finally has convinced Manchester City that he is not the type of role model they want at the club, according to chief club official Brian Marwood.
Despite that, there is no doubt that Roberto Mancini will try and save face for his favorite stepchild and potentially just loan him back to Italy for a little time to mature.
Turkish Clubs Buy Up out of Favor Serie A Stars
13 of 20Dirk Kuyt, Felipe Melo, Raul Meireles and others all headed to the Turkish top flight this summer in a major eastward migration of aging football stars.

And the Neymar Goes To...
14 of 20Although it may not seem bold, but we all know that when it comes time to play transfer window wind-up, Neymar is going to be going everywhere.
From Real Madrid to Chelsea, everyone will be linked, and none of it will be true.
Christian Eriksen Bidding War Renewed and a Winner Crowned
15 of 20Another player that for years has been built up every time a transfer window comes around is Ajax and Danish national team starlet, Christian Eriksen.
However, this January is the first window that things could be much different and it is likely to see a major money deal completed for the talented young midfielder.
Landon Donovan Heads to Everton
16 of 20With the LA Galaxy not looking like their old selves this season, Landon Donovan is most likely going to take his show on the road this winter for what is likely his last go-round with Everton.
He isn't going next year because he will want to avoid unnecessary risk before the 2014 World Cup, and this year Everton looks poised to be a big-time player in the league, and Lando will want a piece of the action.
Scott Sinclair Goes on Loan
17 of 20Manchester City managed to steal Swansea City's perhaps golden goose this summer. However, since his move, Scott Sinclair has had little chance to shine for his new club.
At his age he needs to be, and deserves to be, playing everyday, and it is likely he could head out on loan like many other City stars that have been forced to the fringes.
Kevin Strootman Heads to AC Milan
18 of 20While Manchester United have looked the favorite to sign PSV Eindhoven midfield star Kevin Strootman, the talented young Dutchman might just go somewhere completely different.
With the struggle that AC Milan have had so far this season, it would not be a surprise to see them buy young, but the surprise could be a larger-than-usual price tag for the player.
Malaga and Valencia Gut Themselves to Payoff Debt
19 of 20Malaga are still on the rise in La Liga, despite selling arguably their best midfielder in Santi Cazorla this summer. Valencia are appearing to be suffering either a hiccup or a distinct fall from grace this season with a rough start to their campaign.
However, both clubs are suffering from the same thing—financial implications. With the financial fair play coming down sooner rather than later, but clubs could be forced into something drastic to settle the books.
Demba Ba Forces Newcastle Exit Due to Wonga Sponsorship
20 of 20According to the Mirror, there has been a line crossed in regards to the religious practices of Newcastle United players and the club's newest shirt sponsor, Wonga.
Demba Ba is among those players, and if a proposal to wear a kit without the sponsor's name on it fails to be agreed to, he could be one to attempt to force his way out of the club in January.
