Sports Illustrated Twitter 100: Surprising People to Follow on Social Media Site
Sports Illustrated is probably the most respected sports publication in the world, so when it offers you a list involving anything, you follow it without asking questions.
For the second time in as many years, Sports Illustrated has released its must-follow list of the 100 best sports personalities on Twitter.
Social media has taken over the way news is reported, broken and consumed, so it is important to pay attention to everything that happens on sites like Twitter and Facebook. Often times those sites will have the biggest news you can find long before anyone else.
As we go over the list of 100, here are the most surprising inclusions that make us look at our "Following" list a little closer.
Delonte West, Dallas Mavericks
When you are a solid NBA player who doesn't have star upside, it can be hard to get noticed. Fortunately, for a player like Delonte West, he has the personality that makes people pay attention to him on and off the court.
West will tweet about anything and everything he can possibly think of, from the sporting events he is watching to pseudo-philosophical musings like this gem.
"...I have fun doin nuthin..so I make sumthin ..nuthin..I continue to do nothin ..
— Delonte West (@CharleeRedz13) August 9, 2012"
Pro Football Focus
Almost every sport tries to use advanced statistics to tell you more about player and team performance than you can surmise just by looking at a box score, or in some cases, watching the games.
Since there are a large contingent of NFL fans out there clamoring for more statistical analysis and information, Pro Football Focus is the best place for you to look.
I love advanced stats that provide more insight into the game. They help analyze and understand things that casual observers just aren't able to.
Lest you think all of the information is just statistical hooey, here is all the evidence you should need to change your mind.
"In 2011 PFF Player Participation data was verified (by NFL teams and player agents) as 99.98% accurate. Under 1 mistake every 2194 snaps

Chris Kluwe, Minnesota Vikings
Kluwe is included on my list of surprising people that Sports Illustrated tells me to follow for two reasons. First, he is a punter. It takes a lot for a punter to get recognition, though as a 49ers fan, I have no problem admitting that Andy Lee is one of the 10 most important players on the team.
Second, Kluwe's candidness is refreshing. In an era where people are trying to be so politically correct to please everyone, he is not afraid to speak out about the things he believes in. (Yes, I know he is not the only one, but, as mentioned before, he is also a punter.)
Plus, when Kluwe isn't speaking about politics or something serious, he is providing gems like this one about the release of Borderlands 2.
"Time for Borderlands 2. Step 1: Get Thai food. Step 2: Play Borderlands 2. Step 3: ????. Step 4: I'M DANCIN'! I'M DANCIN'!
— Chris Kluwe (@ChrisWarcraft) September 19, 2012"
