WWE News: Randy Orton Gives Update on '12 Rounds: Reloaded' Schedule
Over at his official Twitter account, WWE Superstar Randy Orton has given fans an update on the filming of 12 Rounds: Reloaded, WWE Studios' upcoming sequel to 2009's 12 Rounds, which sees "The Viper" play an EMT forced to undergo (you guessed it!) 12 grueling tasks in order to save the life of his wife.
Orton writes:
"Start shooting #12RoundsReloaded in 2 weeks. Script looks amazing. I've always wanted to do an action film, now I get my chance!"

It was initially thought that Orton would be taking time off from TV for the role, although in a recent edition of his (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer, noting that the company has continued to advertise him for TV tapings all through the rest of the month, wrote: "It appears that during the movie shooting schedule, they will give him Tuesdays off and keep him on television."
A similar thing was done with John Cena while he was off filming his roles in 12 Rounds, Legendary and The Reunion. Although others, like The Miz with The Marine: Homefront, have just been taken off television entirely.
It is hard to say what Orton himself would find preferable, although, presumably, all that flying back and forth while doing a busy movie schedule will be a minor inconvenience.
So far, only minor details have come out about the straight-to-DVD sequel, which is due to start production in Vancouver at the end of the month.
Respected action veteran Roel Reine, who previously was at the helm for The Marine 2 for WWE Studios, is directing. Per IMDB.com, David Benullo, who co-scripted the 2004 Jackie Chan vehicle Around The World in Eighty Days, is writing the screenplay. So far, no casting decisions, aside from Orton, of course, have been announced.
