CM Punk and Paul Heyman: Why Jack Swagger Should Be the First to Join Them
More than 72 hours after the leer heard around the world happened, the alliance of CM Punk and Paul Heyman is still the hottest topic on the internet since...well, the last time Paul Heyman unexpectedly showed up on Raw as Brock Lesnar's legal representative. There is no telling where they are headed or how long their allegiance will last, but the potential to form a new form of a Dangerous Alliance cannot be ignored.
The first person I can think of who would benefit from the services of Paul Heyman is former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. I do not have to remind everyone of the current losing streak he is on. Not only has Michael Cole been sure to let us know where his record stands, Swagger himself admitted it this past Monday when he told Raw GM AJ Lee that he was taking some "extended time off."

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Swagger has just about every tool you need to become a major star in wrestling. More than six-and-a-half feet tall and over 250 pounds, he is extremely limber for a man his size, and no better demonstration of that can be seen than the Swagger Bomb from the corner. He is an All-American from the University of Oklahoma, personally recruited by Jim Ross after the two met during Swagger's college tenure.
If that sort of background sounds familiar, it should. Swagger has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin as men who accomplished as much or more in their professional wrestling careers as they did in college and the Olympics.
All Jack Swagger needs is the same man who helped all those others pull off some of their greatest victories.
Heyman introduced us all to Brock Lesnar, and the rest is history. What is easy to forget, however, are the other people Heyman helped to reach the top. Names like Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Taz and Sabu are on the resume of the man formerly known as Paul E. Dangerously.
After the fall of ECW and the Alliance with WCW, Heyman guided Lesnar to a WWE Undisputed Championship...only to turn on Lesnar and secure gold for The Big Show. Of course, Heyman was working for Kurt Angle the entire time, and introduced the "contingency plan" of Team Angle in Haas and Benjamin, who have been known as The World's/Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team.
Jack Swagger has had some success since joining WWE, winning the ECW Championship in four months from Matt Hardy. He was also the last man to win a Money in the Bank contract when only one briefcase was awarded, successfully cashing it in against Chris Jericho and winning the World Heavyweight Championship. This would be his greatest victory, and he has not gotten anywhere near the top since.
Paul Heyman would be a perfect fit for Swagger, and vice versa. Whatever Swagger's insecurities on the microphone may be, they would never be noticed with Heyman speaking for the All-American American. With both CM Punk and Jack Swagger in his employ, Heyman's services would become even more enticing. The possibilities of talent they could recruit are endless, but it has to start somewhere.
That place should be Jack Swagger.
