WWE: 6 Wrestlers Who Should Join a Paul Heyman-CM Punk Stable
No one is better at putting over a wrestler's talent than Paul Heyman.
He’s a master of hiding a wrestler’s weakness and helping to motivate him. He can talk about someone better than they can talk about themselves.
Nearly any wrestler on the WWE roster could benefit by having Heyman in his corner. CM Punk probably needs Heyman less than anyone right now. But still, those two joining forces leaves open a ton of intriguing possibilities.
With WWE far behind on building toward the future, it should consider adding more wrestlers to CM Punk and Heyman's act.
It's been too long since seen we've seen a powerful stable in WWE, and with those two in charge, they could make a group for the ages.
But who is worthy to join the group?
Heyman and Punk have so much history with various wrestlers that the choices are nearly endless.
While nearly any wrestler would benefit from joining, if anyone is added to Punk and Heyman's act, it should be one of these six.
Seth Rollins
1 of 6After winning the NXT title, Seth Rollins should be debuting on Raw or Smackdown any time now.
What better way to introduce him to WWE viewers than by having Paul Heyman and CM Punk at his side?
While in ROH, Seth Rollins (then Tyler Black) didn't cut very believable promos. He mainly got over on his in-ring work. Having Heyman do the talking for him could ease his transition into the major leagues.
Heyman and CM Punk are widely respected by Internet fans. Many of those same fans are clamoring to see Rollins on WWE television. They would gladly accept him into a Punk/Heyman stable with open arms.
Heyman would jump at the chance to help a younger talent like Rollins. Helping the next generation of wrestlers is Heyman's speciality.
Also in Rollins' favor is that he could be the workhorse of the group in tag matches (much like X-Pac was for the NWO and DX). He takes good bumps and can flat-out go when the bell rings.
Rollins has proved that he's more than ready for prime time. There's no good reason to hold him back any longer. Joining a stable with former ROH alumni CM Punk could give him the hot start that he needs to be a player right away.
Jack Swagger
2 of 6WWE may finally be ready to do something with Jack Swagger.
You have to wonder, though, is it too late for him?
Very few wrestlers have fallen from such heights. For the past couple years, it seems like Swagger has s jobbed nearly every week on TV.
That's going to be a hard thing to forget.
Luckily, Paul Heyman is a master at covering up other wrestler's weaknesses.
In the storyline, if Heyman convinced Swagger to come back and join his stable, it would make Swagger seem like a big deal. He could then regain his intensity, and Heyman could brag about how he was able to bring something out of him that no one else could.
He would also now have a dominant force to do his bidding.
It would be best for Swagger to take time away from WWE for awhile. Changing his look and music would be a step in the right direction. But an even better step would be returning as an effective player in the midst of a hot angle.
Drew McIntyre
3 of 6Like Jack Swagger, Drew McIntryre has meant almost nothing to the company the last couple years.
At one point, he was the chosen one. He seemed a sure thing to become a future main-eventer. For whatever reason, he has yet to come close to fulfilling his potential.
If McIntyre joined Heyman's stable, they could even play up that he's been looked over for so long.
Heyman could be the guy that molds McIntyre into a player in WWE. He's got the look and the size. He just needs something to sink his teeth into.
Being surrounded by other young, hungry talent could be just what he needs. After all, if Heyman could get Jon Heidenreich over, he could easily do the same for McIntyre.
Sara Del Ray
4 of 6It's time for some Diva destruction.
An immediate way to make the Divas division relevant would be promoting Sara Del Rey to the roster and immediately aligning her with Heyman and Punk.
Why should this potential stable stop at just having the world title in its camp? Much like other legendary wrestling stables like the NWO, the 4-Horsemen and Evolution, this stable should be on a quest to capture all the gold.
For Del Rey, taking out Layla shouldn't be a problem.
She would also represent something different in the Divas division. She legitimately looks tough, like a fighter. You just can't say the same thing about most of the women on the roster.
After Kharma's release, Del Rey could now take the push that was going to be given to her. She could run through every Diva, destroying them, until WWE feels it has found the right baby-face challenger.
Del Rey is widely liked and respected by Internet fans, and she would lend a dynamic to women's wrestling that hasn't been seen in years.
WWE made a lot of money with Chyna when she was in DX. Del Rey could lend that same spark to a new stable. There's no better way to try to revive women's wrestling in WWE than by adding the queen of wrestling into the mix.
Antonio Cesaro
5 of 6Antonio needs to get away from Santino as soon as possible.
If they want him to rise up the card as a heel, having him face the lamest act in all of wrestling is not the way to get there.
Antonio is a guy with strong ROH connections that would get the Internet fans going. He would immediately be given a rub by being placed alongside former alumnus CM Punk.
WWE would be even wiser by teaming him again with his old tag partner, Chris Hero (now known as the less memorable Kassius Ohno). The two could make a run for the tag titles, as they have already proved they can put on great matches.
If WWE is serious about pushing tag teams, it coudn't do much better than having those two as the face of the division.
It doesn't matter that Antonio has the U.S. title. The belt had just reached its lowest point in years by the time he won it, thanks to Santino's ridiculous run.
Dropping his five-language gimmick and joining up with an old friend could get him over the top.
Matt Morgan
6 of 6Matt Morgan hasn't officially signed with WWE yet, but it seems that it's only a matter of time before he appears on TV.
Morgan has some prior experience with Heyman and Brock Lesnar, when he joined Team Lesnar at the 2003 Survivor Series. WWE likes to forget its history, but it could be a case where Heyman could talk about what a mistake it was for WWE to let Morgan go.
Heyman would correct that mistake and bring in Morgan to do his dirty work.
With Lesnar rarely showing up on TV, the Heyman-Punk stable could use an enforcer. There's not many men in all of wrestling who are bigger than Morgan.
Due to his power and great wrestling ability for a big man, he could fit in with the group quite nicely.
Better yet, it would finally help do away with the bad memories of his stuttering gimmick from his first run.
