Paul Heyman: 9 Wrestlers Who Could Use Him as Their Manager

David LevinJun 7, 2018

The fact Paul Heyman is back in the WWE is a really good thing.

The loudmouth of the company, the one who gets under your skin more so than Jim Cornette or Jimmy Hart, is still a major part of the WWE and its plans moving forward.

At least we hope so.

And with the "potential" for Brock Lesanr and Triple H to still be involved in another match (who are we kidding?) the potential for the little greasy worm to be slapped around by Stephanie McMahon still exists.

Gotta love it when that happens.

But what if the WWE took Heyman and gave him an expanded role? Surely there are other wrestlers who would benefit from Heyman and his wealth of knowledge and cunning that makes his presence a must-see on television.

It also means other stars looking to move up the food chain or regain their spot in the company.

But for starters, here a a few who I could see Heyman helping reach top-level status.

Jack Swagger

It would appear his affiliation with Vickie Guerrero is over or on a short leash.

Swagger may have the most talent that is unused in the WWE and the right combination of managing and cunning could get him back into the World Title picture.

Swagger has a great amateur background and a decent style in the ring. If he remains a singles star and gets away from the Vickie/Dolph Ziggler duo, he could seek even bigger things toward the end of the 2012 year.

I am not a huge fan of Swagger. I think he is robotic and stiff and stale.

But the talent is there is it is molded properly.

Tensai

Is it just me or is the whole new look for Matt Bloom the wrong one in the WWE?

Tensai could be a monster and should be a monster who is gaining top billing in the WWE and is not getting even a sniff of title contention.

For all the look and talent and his ability to destroy opponents, Tensai is a perfect fit for the style of Heyman's crazed managerial style.

And because of it, titles might soon come his way.

Jinder Mahal

If the WWE is serious about making Mahal a major heel in the company, he needs more of a real manager to guide him along.

Could you see Tensai and Mahal together under the guide of Heyman?

Mahal has a great look and skill in the ring. I like the idea of him trying to challenge the likes of Ryback and Sheamus, but there is not enough substance in his character to warrant him being a main attraction.

Can Heyman, who has worked his magic for many of the years, help solidify Mahal as a top heel in the coming year?

Cody Rhodes

Even last year, I was touting him as the next WWE world champion.

Now, he is a mid card wrestler and someone who has lost his spot.

Cody Rhodes deserves better than that.

Heyman, a mastermind of making the obvious look ambiguous will have a great time with Rhodes and making him a real threat for the World Title his daddy once held.

Wade Barrett

Wouldn't it be awesome if Barrett came out of the back at Night of Champions and challenged Sheamus for the World Title?

Wouldn't it be even more awesome if he came out with Heyman as his manager and challenged the "The Great White" right there and then?

I think there is so much potential for Barrett as the lead villain in the WWE in the next year and the next great champion of this generation.

I also think in time if Barrett and Ryback were to go to war, it would be epic.

The Prime Time Players

The shtick with A.W. worked and the chemistry between the two, Titus O'Neal and Darren Young is phenomenal.

Having Heyman in their corner just adds to the package.

And since the two should be holding Tag Team gold some time soon, it would only be fitting if another manager stepped in and helped the two men achieve greatness.

Heyman can do that.

Big Show

7 of 8

If Brock Lesnar is not going to be on the WWE roster on a full-time basis, then why not have Heyman associate with someone he knows well in Paul Wight?

Big Show has been on a roll lately and has had some great showings in title matches and his feuds with John Cena and in title matches with CM Punk.

Having Heyman act as an advocate is a no-brainer and could lead to Big Show finally getting WWE gold back around his waist.

Randy Orton

8 of 8

There is something about hearing Heyman talk about "The Viper" that has a great ring to it and sounds so sinister.

And now that Orton is in that same crossroads in his career as Triple H, maybe Heyman can work some magic to help revitalize him as one of the lead dogs of the WWE.

Orton vs. Triple H or John Cena or even Christian again makes for great theater.
