Fox News' Fair and Balanced Trolling Includes Calling Michael Jordan a Failure

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

Fox News continued to do what they do best recently, bringing the unbiased news with immense doses of opinion...and bias.

Guyism's A. Isaac spotted a post over at Fox Nation, which seems to be a blog off shoot-of-the-larger Fox News

On Wednesday, President Obama held NBA-themed fundraisers with current and former basketball stars. As with anything that the President does, there are those that fume and others that celebrate.

That's not what caught our eye.

Here is a caption from the blog entry that attempted to describe the fundraiser, via Fox Nation

Really, Fox? I mean, seriously?

At Fox Nation, opinions come fast and furious and claims can range—as with most places on the Internet—from spot-on to wildly ridiculous. The latest is just head-shakingly silly.

Their very motto at the blog includes this:

"

The Fox Nation is committed to the core principles of tolerance, open debate, civil discourse, and fair and balanced coverage of the news. It is for those opposed to intolerance, excessive government control of our lives, and attempts to monopolize opinion or suppress freedom of thought, expression, and worship.

"

Let's try that open debate and free-minded expression for just a bit.

Calling Michael Jordan a failed baseball player is like calling Fox News a shoddy news organization. Michael Jordan's legacy was far from the baseball diamond, much as Fox News' substance is far from unbiased reporting.

So the proper description would be to call Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time, and Fox News a wildly popular talk-show network.

This is nearly as absurd as calling Babe Ruth a failed pitcher, or making any of us suffer now for coloring outside the lines when we were five.

Sure, Jordan couldn't hit a curve ball to save his life, but are we really trying to remember him in a baseball uniform?

The real pain in all this is sticking up for a man who once took down my beloved Lakers in the 1991 NBA Finals. It's mandated because the greatest of all time is being reduced to "failure" status to get a rise out of us.

Well great job, Fox News. We have all just been Skip Baylessed
