New Giannis-Jaylen Brown Trade Rumors on Potential 3-Team Deal Involving Celtics, Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks are rumored to still be evaluating their trade options for star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, and one insider floated the possibility of involving another Eastern Conference star in a potential deal.

NBA insider Jake Fischer suggested that the Bucks could look to put together a three-team trade involving the Boston Celtics that would acquire star guard Jaylen Brown.

"If — and I want to stress that this is a hypothetical — any Brown-for-Antetokounmpo conversation actually does materialize in the future, multiple rival team strategists this week suggested that the likely appeal for Milwaukee, in addition to draft capital from the Celtics, would be to move Brown on or expand such a deal into a multi-team transaction," Fischer stated.

Fischer noted that the communication between Antetokounmpo and the Bucks "has been rather minimal" since the end of the regular season. Milwaukee finished with a 32-50 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst explained during a recent episode of Get Up that a trade between the Bucks and Celtics involving Antetokounmpo and Brown would be "simple" for both sides.

"This is extraordinarily simple. Of course Milwaukee would see some of the stuff that Jaylen Brown is saying and they would get ready to go and call Boston," Windhorst said. "From a Boston standpoint, this is very simple. In July, Jaylen Brown has the opportunity to sign a contract extension with the Celtics. If he's happy with the Celtics, it's a huge one. It could be $70 million per year. He's just coming off his best season, you're going to offer it. If he's happy with the Celtics, sign. See you in September. If he's not happy with the Celtics and he's like, 'I'm not sure I want to be here,' trade [him]."

Fischer's report confirmed that Milwaukee would be interested in prying Brown away from Boston. It sounds like the 29-year-old's decision on his contract extension this summer will be the key to determining whether the Bucks would try to convince the Celtics to trade him.
