WWE SummerSlam 2012 Results: PPV Effective Despite Predictable Winners
WWE SummerSlam 2012 may have been predictable, but it was effective.
CM Punk predictably defeated John Cena and Big Show, Brock Lesnar continued to be a villain with his victory over Triple H, Chris Jericho won a tremendous match against Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan defeated Kane, Sheamus and The Miz defended their respective titles.
Punk now completes his heel turn, while the tiring John Cena and Big Show lose some spotlight. It was destined from the start (where else could the WWE go?)—it wasn't a matter of if it would happen, but how.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
In the end, Punk outlasted Cena, hitting him with an AA and tossing him out of the ring to take the pinfall victory.
Lesnar's Kimura Lock on Triple H was the right move for the match. It keeps the Kimura in the wheelhouse for the WWE, Lesnar goes on to frustrate WWE fans everywhere and Triple H doesn't lose much with his loss. More drama without severe consequences for Triple H.
Sheamus defended his World Heavyweight title against Alberto Del Rio, marking a rivalry which is sure to continue for at least another match or two.
Bryan continues to be a controversial figure, as the man Punk dubbed "Goat Face" emerged victorious with a rollup on Kane.
The Miz and Rey Mysterio gave fans a lot to cheer for in the Intercontinental title match, with The Miz dropping his Skull-Crushing Finale on the former world champion and giving the Intercontinental title's reputation a needed boost.
While Jericho and Ziggler's match was not predictable, the outcome was, as the Walls of Jericho led to Ziggler's demise. This should set up a tantalizing rematch down the line.
There weren't too many surprises in WWE SummerSlam this year, but, for once, there didn't need to be. Things unfolded the way they should have and it sets WWE up moving forward.
