WWE: Was the CM Punk Heel Turn Too Soon?
On Raw 1,000, WWE revealed its "blockbuster" angle for the summer—CM Punk turning heel on the Rock. Although this wasn't as shocking as the previous two summer storylines (Punk walking out and the Nexus), it still was a bit of a change in direction regarding what the WWE Universe have been watching throughout the year.
With this new attitude for CM Punk, the big question is, was the CM Punk heel turn too soon? Here are the "for" and "against" arguments, and you—the reader—will decide.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
CM Punk was desperately in need of a character change. Since his turbo boost in popularity last summer, his pipebombs have become mere sparklers. His matches have been good against Jericho, Bryan and Cena, but his position as a top babyface have been a bit lackluster and stale. A turn gives a spike to his character and cease him being a shadow of John Cena main-eventing all year so far.
Against
The CM Punk turn was entirely too soon. Raw is in dire need of a top babyface, and Punk was the main who filled that spot. With Punk becoming a heel, the WWE now have to depend on John Cena being the top babyface, which is a bad idea since Cena has not been a clear-cut face for a number of years.
With the Rock most likely not returning until late this year/early next year, it would have made more sense for Punk to turn heel around Survivor Series. Also, it would have been much more fresh leading to a potential Rock/Punk match at WrestleMania 29.
