WWE: Why Paul Heyman Needs to Remain on TV
There are very few men in all of wrestling who can talk like Paul Heyman can.
Heyman should stay an on-air character. He doesn’t even need Brock Lesnar to be relevant.
Right now, he’s arguably the best talker in all of wrestling. He’s just plain fantastic at being a smarmy, gloating heel that you want to see get beat up.

As good as the Heyman/Lesnar teaming is, imagine what he could do for younger wrestlers. Add Heyman to virtually any act in WWE and it would greatly increase their odds of getting over.
Heyman is so good that he even got John Heidenreich over for a short while.
WWE has a lot of bright, young talent that would benefit with him by their side. Bring up Seth Rollins, Richie Steamboat or even Sara Del Ray and any one could immediately become a player.
Even better, align him with a stable full of young stars and let Heyman be the mouth-piece. As Heyman would always say in ECW "hide the negatives, and accentuate the positives."
Heyman lives for putting young talent over. Part of the reason he left WWE last time, was that he wanted CM Punk to choke out The Big Show in an Elimination Chamber match.
Apparently, Vince McMahon thought otherwise.
When he was in negotiations to join TNA, he wanted to bring in Daniel Bryan to be a top star. Again, Heyman showed he’s a great judge of talent. He’s years ahead of what WWE sees in its own guys.
With so few genuine stars in WWE today, it can use all the help they can get at creating new top acts.
Even if WWE didn't want to bring up talent, it could pair him with Ziggler, with McIntyre, or again, give him an entire stable of underutilized talent and see what he can do.
Unlike some managers, Heyman makes it all about his guy, Brock Lesnar. He isn’t constantly hogging the spotlight, he just stands there confidently knowing how much better his monster is than anyone else.
Vickie Guerrero is good, but she's midcard, A.W. was too, but Heyman is main event.
He’s a diabolical genius and a great TV character.
Yes, Heyman could probably be a better writer than anyone currently employed in WWE (probably everyone put together), but Vince and him just don’t see eye-to-eye.
That doesn’t mean he still wouldn’t be valuable as strictly an on-air talent.
Eric Bishoff was a great heel character for the company for years, and he didn’t contribute anything to the creative process.
It would be interesting to see if Heyman would even be interested in a full-time role. He has a family, and a lot of other interests outside of wrestling.
But it's in his blood. He always comes back. This time he shouldn't leave; there's too much work to be done.
If WWE wants to start building some new stars and it refuses to give Heyman any creative control, then it still can’t do much better than making him a generous offer to stay as an on-air talent.
