Olympic Results 2012: Top Events to Anticipate on Day 14
The Olympics are very quickly coming to a close.
Usain Bolt has achieved track and field immortality. The U.S. women's soccer team has finally found redemption following the 2011 World Cup. Ashton Eaton has garnered more gold for the U.S. in the decathlon.
But with just a couple of days remaining in this summer's Olympic action, there are still some key events to look forward to. Here's the best that Friday has in store.
You can see a full list of Olympic events and results here.
Women's 4x100-Meter Relay: Final, 3:40 p.m. ET
Allyson Felix, Carmelita Jeter and the stars of women's track certainly haven't failed to impress in London this summer. Though she came in fifth in the 100-meter final, Felix took the gold medal in the 200-meter on Wednesday. Teammate Jeter medaled twice, taking silver in the 100 and bronze in the 200.
Now, the two of them will team up as part of the U.S. relay team, which will hope to upstage Jamaica and bring one more gold back home.
The 2008 women's relay team had a heartbreaking run in Beijing, where it dropped the baton and ruled itself out of medal contention. Prior to that, the U.S. had medaled in every men's or women's 4x100-meter relay since 1928, according to USA Today.
Felix and Jeter's mission on Friday? To make up for the 2008 disaster with a gold.
Men's Basketball: Argentina vs. USA, 4 p.m. ET
The U.S. men's team needs just one more win in this semifinal matchup to put itself in the gold-medal game on Sunday. For the Americans to lose on Friday would be a colossal upset, but it's the Olympics, and anything could happen.
Plus, Argentina is no slouch of an opponent: It did, after all, win the gold in men's basketball at the 2004 Games. And though it doesn't have quite as much NBA experience on its roster as the U.S., it does have Manu Ginobili, Carlos Delfino and Luis Scola, all of whom have been integral to Argentina's success over the last two weeks.
The last time these two teams squared off, on August 6, the U.S. came away with a decisive, 126-97 victory, thanks to great performances from Kevin Durant and LeBron James. They—and the rest of the U.S. roster—will look to repeat on Friday.
When it all comes down to it, Team USA likely will have too many weapons for Argentina to stop and will get the opportunity to defend its gold medal.
Men's 4x100-Meter Relay: Round 1, 2:45 p.m. ET
One of the best moments of the 2012 Olympics came on Thursday when Usain Bolt won the gold in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 19.32 seconds and solidified himself as the only man to win both the 100-meter and the 200-meter dashes in consecutive Olympics, according to CBC Sports.

It wasn't easy for Bolt, who endured more than his fair share of criticism and doubt leading up to these Olympics.
But upon finishing on Thursday, Bolt held a finger to his lips, as if silencing the crowd, and afterward, he had a message for those critics, according to ESPN.com:
"That was for all that people that doubted me, all the people that was talking all kinds of stuff that I wasn't going to do it, I was going to be beaten. I was just telling them: You can stop talking now, because I am a legend.
"
But Bolt isn't quite finished counting his medals: He's almost assured of getting another one on Friday during the 4x100-meter relay, for which he'll be joined by 100-meter and 200-meter silver medalist Yohan Blake.
Those two are going to be tough for U.S. sprinters Justin Gatlin and Tyson Gay to contend with, but it bodes to be a finish worth watching.
