Top Day 11 Athletes to Watch
Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh: Women's Beach Volleyball Semifinal
Two-time defending Olympic women's beach volleyball gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh have a daunting semifinal match on tap for Tuesday, as they will take on China's Xue Chen and Xi Zhang.
The last three times these teams have met, May and Walsh have come up on the wrong side of the outcome. The most recent loss came just last month by a score of 21-14, 21-14.
Don't expect a similar performance by May and Walsh here. They have looked fantastic, and they will not give up their spot as Olympic champs without a real battle.
Usain Bolt: Men's 200-Meter Dash Round 1
We aren't likely to get a full dose of Bolt on this day, but any chance to catch this sprinting phenom in action is a treat.
Bolt is not particularly fond of running all out when he doesn't have to, and he is not going to have to do advance past the first round of the 200.
Still, Bolt is likely on the verge of becoming the first man in history to win the gold in both the 100 and 200 in two consecutive Olympic Games. It will be interesting to see just how easy he makes advancing look.
Jordyn Wieber: Women's Gymnastics Floor Exercise
Wieber entered these Olympic Games as one of the favorites to win the individual all-around gold. After narrowly finishing behind two teammates in qualifying, she never got the chance to compete for that honor.
In fact, the floor exercise is her only chance to win an individual medal to go with the gold she won with the "Fab Five" in the team competition.
Wieber will have to have the routine of her life to win gold here, and I wouldn't be shocked if she does, and it would be a shock if she didn't leave with at least a bronze.
