Cavaliers Meeting With C.J. Miles

According to FOX Sports Ohio's Sam Amico, the Cleveland Cavaliers have arranged a two-day visit with free agent small forward C.J. Miles, who has played his entire NBA career with the Utah Jazz.

The Cavaliers are in the market for a shooting guard, and Miles could fill that role as a 6'6" shooter with plenty of professional experience. Miles has started 159 games during his seven-year NBA career, averaging 8.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game since entering the league in 2005.

The biggest strength of Miles' game is his three-point shooting. However he only shot 30.7 percent from beyond the arc last season and can go stretches without finding the bottom of the net. The fact that Miles is experienced and yet only 25 heading into next season makes him a coveted addition, but his impact on the Cavs or whatever team signs him this summer will be minimal.

Ronnie Brewer Officially a Knick

The New York Knicks had more to offer free agent shooting guard Ronnie Brewer than did the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer, according to the Pioneer Press.

Brewer signed a one-year deal with the Knicks on Tuesday, simply because he liked the opportunity in the Big Apple more than in chilly Minnesota, according to his agent Henry Thomas via the Pioneer Press:

"

Minnesota was very interested in Ronnie and was very aggressive about it, for the things that were important to him, he felt that the better move was to go to New York. Ronnie was more comfortable with the opportunity there.

"

Brewer is best known for his defensive talent and ability to strap up the opposition's top scorers. The six-year NBA vet averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season, starting as well as coming off the bench for the Chicago Bulls.

Brewer will bring some much-needed defensive intensity to New York's rotation next season. Tyson Chandler will be happy as well, as he will finally get some help on the perimeter with the addition of a lock-down defender in Brewer.

Mickael Pietrus Likely Done in Boston

Defensive and three-point specialist Mickael Pietrus is likely done playing for the Boston Celtics, as the free agent small forward's agent, Bill McCandless, has made it very clear that Pietrus will not sign for the minimum, according to WEEI.com:

"

MP will not play for the veteran’s minimum. Period, it’s not happening. That’s the beginning, middle and end of that…he is not a veteran’s minimum player. There’s no chance he’ll ever sign for that.

"

Pietrus averaged 6.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last season for the Celtics, providing a spark off the bench and helping them reach the Eastern Conference finals last spring.

It wouldn't be the end of the world for the Celtics if they don't bring back Pietrus next season, as he struggled to hit open shots in the postseason, connecting on just 22 percent of his three-point attempts in the 2012 playoffs.

Giving into McCandless' demands would even be a bit foolish for Boston, who have enough pieces already in place to contend in the East next season.
