Liverpool Transfer News: Is Fabio Borini Worth Breaking the Bank For?
Andy Carroll or no Andy Carroll, Liverpool will certainly need to delve into the transfer market this summer in a bid to improve their attacking options before the start of the new season.
Last league campaign the Reds only managed to score 47 goals, fewer than rivals Everton and even Fulham and Norwich.
With Dirk Kuyt having already departed and the future of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll uncertain, new manager Brendan Rogers seems to have understandably made signing a new striker a top priority.

Behind Carroll and Suarez, the club can only count Nathan Eccleston in terms of depth in attacking options.
Despite the club being unwilling to spend as much as last summer, there is money available for Rogers, as rumours heat up over a proposed £8 million transfer for Roma hotshot Fabio Borini being completed in the coming few days (via BBC Sport).
The move would reunite Rogers with the Italian striker, having previously coached the youngster at Swansea in 2011.
During his brief stint at the Welsh outfit, Borini scored six vital goals in only nine league appearances, as well as impressing in the Championship playoff final win that secured the club's promotion to the English top flight.
Whilst at Roma last season, Borini struck 10 times in all competitions, including an equaliser against archrivals Lazio, and two in a 4-0 defeat of Inter.
Borini is quick, clinical and impressive in the air despite measuring 5'11''.
He is also capable of playing the poacher—the type of player that Liverpool are in sore need of.
Therefore, the signing of Fabio Borini would surely come as a relief to Liverpool fans, who appreciate the need for owner John W. Henry to break the bank this summer.
Not that spending £8 million on a player is considered "breaking the bank" these days, especially for Liverpool.
