2009 Minnesota Twins: How Can They Win Another Division Title?
The winter of 2007 and 2008 was frustrating for Twins fans. Many experienced players were replaced by inconsistent or inexperienced players. What will happen this off season?
Here are some questions the Twins need to answer:
Who starts at third base?
So far this off season, a number of third base options quickly surfaced and receded even faster. Garrett Atkins, J.J. Hardy, and Ty Wigginton were all possible free agent acquistions, but they all have homes next season.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Third baseman Joe Crede is coming off minor back surgery and claims to be completely healthy. If so, the Twins will likely sign Crede to add right-handed power to their lineup. The Giants also are pursuing Crede. However, with the signing of Uribe, they have their infield filled.
Who fills the bullpen and gets the ball to Nathan?
The failure of the bullpen was a shock last year; Pat Neshek went down and Matt Guerrier ran out of gas due to overusage.
The rise of Jose Mijares as a dominant lefty out of the bullpen makes him the most logical choice for the set-up position.
Craig Breslow was another surprise and a handful of prospects including Robert Delaney and Anthony Swarzak will have chance to make the roster, though Swarzak will most likely be a spot starter.
Who starts in the outfield?
Is there such thing as a good problem?
If so, the Twins certainly find themselves in that situation. They have five current players who can start in the outfield.
Kubel will likely be the DH. As a result, Michael Cuddyer, Delmon Young, Carlos Gomez and Denard Span are the Twins' options for outfielders.
Span deserves a starting spot due to his exceptional play in clutch situations last season.
When healthy, Cuddyer can be a dangerous player at the plate and in the field.
Young and Gomez seem to be fighting for the last spot. Young's power and his throwing arm makes it difficult to bench him. Until Gomez can become more disciplined, he appears to be the odd man out.
The Twins will find themselves in a more difficult division next season. The Royals improved many aspects of their team, and Cleveland is once again the favorites.
Gardenhire hopes that a productive spring training and a healthy roster will lead him to another division title.
