Randy Orton-Triple H for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXV?
February 10, 2009
For the past couple of weeks, I, along with many others, have been trying to figure out who, and how some superstars, will fit into matches at WrestleMania XXV, with the most confusing being the whole Edge/Triple H/Hardys/Christian situation.
Well, I have an idea.
Let's talk No Way Out.
We've got Randy Orton vs. Shane McMahon. I don't really think much will happen story-wise during this match other than a win by Randy Orton or possibly "help" from Stephanie McMahon to have her brother win into thinking she's on his side.
Then there's the Elimination Chamber with Cena's Heavyweight Championship on the line. We all know who's walking out as champion. WWE wouldn't let their precious PG-rated superstar lose his prized possession only weeks before he enters the grandest stage of them all to defend his title, nor will they have him lose it at WrestleMania XXV. You probably just said, "Well he's going against Randy Orton so I'm 100 percent sure Cena won't walk out champion at 'Mania blah blah blah."
Which brings me to my next point.
Last night on RAW, Randy Orton made it known that he doesn't necessarily have to fight Cena at WrestleMania XXV.
Interesting.
Along with that, there was a phone call to Stephanie from someone who was obviously worried about her. Who's to say that was Vince? What if it was Triple H?
Now to the Elimination Chamber for Edge's WWE title. I honestly do not know, but I will change my guess from a few articles ago when I said Edge would again regain his title to defend it at WrestleMania XXV.
Picture this.
Triple H wins the WWE title from Edge (Edge goes on to do a program with Christian or the Hardys or whatever it may be).
Randy Orton shocks us all when he challenges Triple H for the WWE title at WrestleMania XXV.
Or better yet, Triple H forces it out of Orton. He wants it. He wants to beat the living hell out of Orton.
Now, that's exciting and all, but let's make this interesting.
Let's say Stephanie is aligned with "Legacy."
Who does she side with now?
Does she stand by her man, and husband, Triple H, or does she betray him and continue to work with Randy Orton and "Legacy," ensuring his win at WrestleMania XXV?
And who will face the beloved John Cena?
One thing I'm not sure about is why WWE would want their top superstar to go a bit of a step down by joining SmackDown. Plus, where would that leave "Legacy"?
Unless we see another WWE and World Heavyweight champion switch again at this year's WWE draft.
We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.
