Here are the biggest matches to watch for during the next few days.
Denmark (9) vs. Portugal (10) on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. ET
Denmark and Portugal are both among the world's top 10 teams, according to the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings.
Portugal desperately needs a win to keep them in contention for the rest of the tournament after losing their first game to Germany. Denmark, on the other hand, could likely get away with a tie after winning their first game against Holland.
Denmark features a youngster by the name of Nicklas Bendtner. He has already scored 18 international goals in his time with the club, and at 24, his best years are still ahead of him.
Portugal is a young team that is led by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. He scored seven goals during the qualifying tournament, and they will need him to step up in a major way on Wednesday against Denmark if they have any hopes of moving on in this tournament.
Netherlands (4) vs. Germany (3) on Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. ET
Germany is coming off a nice win against Portugal. They are in excellent position to claim Group B after Holland surprised everyone by losing to Denmark.
Holland needs Robin van Persie to step up in a major way in this contest. He's their best scoring option, and the striker must come through in the clutch to save his team from an early exit.
Germany needs to dominate the time of possession in this match by controlling the middle of the field. If they can just hold Holland off, they will have an excellent chance to take this group even if they manage a tie, as they should be more than a match for Denmark in their third game.
Italy (12) vs. Croatia (8) on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. ET
Croatia has full control of Group C after easily dispatching Ireland, 3-1, in their first match. They face a much sterner test on Thursday against Italy, though, who tied their first match with Spain.
Croatia will hope Mario Mandžukić can recreate the magic he conjured when he scored two goals via headers against Ireland. On the other side, Italy will rely on defender Giorgio Chiellini to have a strong game and keep Croatia from scoring on their attacks.
It should be a fantastic game to watch, as neither team can afford to play poorly with Spain still alive and kicking with one point in Group C.
