England Euro 2012 Squad: Modern Day English Footballer Attitude Is Questionable
It seems once more the England national football squad heads to a major championship in disarray.
It is evident that a squad hampered by injuries with newly appointed manager Roy Hodgson at the helm has little chance of success at the upcoming Euro 2012 Finals. The current lack of options for new managerial incumbent Roy Hodgson is a sad indictment on the mentality of the modern day English football player.
Indeed it seems we now live in a world where the modern day English footballer prefers to spend the summer on the beach rather than offer his services to his country.

Currently beset by a spate of injuries, Roy Hodgson is unable to call on the services of several key personnel due to criminally early international retirements in the case of Paul Robinson, Scott Carson and Paul Scholes.
Perhaps more damning is the list of players who refused to go on the standby call up list, which included such talents as Michael Carrick and Micah Richards.
To complicate matters further, Roy Hodgson refuses to call on the services of Rio Ferdinand due to the pending court case in relation to the alleged racist remarks made by John Terry against Rio's brother, Anton.
England legend Bobby Moore, who gloriously lifted the World Cup in 1966, must be turning in his grave. Moore was a fine representation of the integrity of the English football player in a bygone era.
In today's world, modern English footballers tend to fit the stereotype of overpaid prima donnas who think they are above the law.
Indeed the spine of the current England team is headed by John Terry, a man currently awaiting trial for alleged racial abuse. His past indiscretions also include alleged extra marital affairs and charges of affray.
The roll call of disgrace when you analyse the rest of the England squad is quite remarkable.
Wayne Rooney's well publicised alleged infidelity with Prostitute Jenny Thomson in 2009 whilst his fiancee was pregnant is just one of many indiscretions within the squad.
Striker Andy Carroll pleaded guilty to assault in 2010 for smashing a glass in a man's face and even current captain Steven Gerrard was taken into custody in 2008 on suspicion of a section 20 assault.
To give matters a comedic twist, fullback Glen Johnson was arrested in 2006 on suspicion of the theft of a toilet seat!
Somehow I don't think the World Cup Winning squad of 1966 contained a list of such unsavoury characters.
