Georgia Football Recruiting: Tracking Targets for the 2013 Class
When your team is located in the SEC, chances are you have a great recruiting class year in and year out. That has been the case for the Georgia Bulldogs over the years, which is a big part of why they compete so well in this loaded conference.
Last season, the Bulldogs landed 19 recruits, including 5-star players such as running back Keith Marshall and defensive end Jordan Jenkins. In 2013, Georgia hasn't slowed down one bit as it has received early commitments already from 17 recruits, including a top running back once again in Derrick Henry.
Despite all of the success Georgia is having lately with the recruiting process, it is always looking to build on that ridiculous talent. Here are some updates on some of the top recruits that the Georgia Bulldogs are trying to land for the 2013 class.
Tyrone Crowder
1 of 7Latest Status: Considering Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida State, among others.
Georgia has many questions on the offensive line this season; it can fix some of those issues in 2013 by picking up Tyrone Crowder. He is considered one of the top offensive linemen in this year's class at 6'3", 305 pounds. He is a very tough player, plays the game with a high motor and has a great combination of power and strength.
The 4-star recruit hasn't named a top five just yet, but does know a couple of schools that will get an official visit from him.
“I know I will probably go to Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina. Those are three visits I know for sure I will take this summer. I haven’t figured out the rest of my visits yet.” Crowder said. (Via Scout.com)
Last season Georgia allowed 33 sacks, which was 11th in the SEC; picking up somebody like Crowder would be huge moving forward.
Hunter Henry
2 of 7Latest Status: Considering Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Oklahoma.
Henry isn't a complete tight end as he struggles in the blocking department, but he is 6'6", 240 pounds, with a great set of hands. He is a playmaker at the tight end position and could provide Georgia with a key offensive weapon.
The six schools listed above are his final six on his list, but there is no timetable for when he will make his official announcement.
""I have been thinking about when I want to commit and I have been praying about it too," said Henry. (Via Scout) "I could be committing to someone this summer, God will let me know when the time is right. He will help me figure all of this out."

Vonn Bell
3 of 7Latest Status: Considering Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas, among others.
Bell is a playmaker at the safety position. He has terrific ball skills, is a very hard hitter and is capable of switching to the cornerback position if needed. The 5-star recruit has already visited schools such as Georgia and Alabama, among others, but doesn't plan on making a decision anytime soon.
""I do not have anything planned for the summer yet, but anything is possible," he said. "I am going to take at least a few of my official visits because I want to see how the campus is during the season. I want to see how the fans get out and support their team, how live it is, and just get a feel for things on game-day." (Via Scout)

Bell is from Rossville, GA and would truly help a defense that returns mainly upperclassmen this season.
Montravius Adams
4 of 7Latest Status: Considering Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and Clemson, among others.
Adams is considered by many top recruiting sites to be the top defensive tackle in this year's class. He has great size at 6'3", 285 pounds, explodes off the ball and plays with an extremely high motor. Although he is not expected to make a commitment until National Signing Day, the 5-star player has mentioned a few schools he is giving a second look.
"I enjoy talking to UGA. They have a cool coaching staff and I think they've really been on a rise. They are my home state school too so I want to give them love. I could see myself there," Adams told Scout.com.
With Adams being from Vienna, GA, it appears that the Bulldogs have that one thing that no other school can offer him. This would be a huge pickup if Georgia can lock him up.
Robert Nkemdiche
5 of 7Latest Status: Considering LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia and Georgia Tech, among others.
Nkemdiche is considered the top defensive end by many recruiting websites. He has the ability to see the field right away with his size at 6'4", 268 pounds. He is extremely athletic, has the ability to play inside or outside and plays the game with a very high motor.
While Bleacher Report believes it will come down to LSU or Alabama, it would be foolish to just write off the home school Georgia. Nkemdiche is from Loganville, GA and with Daryl Jones joining the Georgia staff; the Bulldogs could emerge as a possible front-runner in this race.
"“I love that dude, and we had a really good relationship,” Nkemdiche said. “He used to coach me when I was a freshman and he was so hyper. Now he is at Georgia, so I know when I go up there he is going to make me like Georgia even more because I like him a lot.” (Via ESPN)

Things could get very interesting in the next couple of months.
Matthew Thomas
6 of 7Latest Status: Considering Florida, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia and South Florida, among others.
Georgia will once again have to compete for the big boys if they want to land a Thomas, a 5-star recruit out of Miami, FL. Thomas is a playmaker at the outside linebacker position, covers a ton of ground and plays the game with a very aggressive style.
Although he is from Florida, Thomas does have family in Georgia, which does help the Bulldogs in this case.
"I have family in the state of Georgia, so they have told me a lot about Georgia football. They tell me how it so big there, they put guys in the NFL too, and I like them." Thomas told Scout.com.
The 5-star linebacker hasn't visited many schools yet, but plans on taking all five of his official visits before making a decision later down the road.
Laremy Tunsil
7 of 7Latest Status: Considering LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida, among others.
Tunsil is heavily recruited by nearly every top school in the country and he recently released his top five that includes the Georgia Bulldogs.
""I have been to Georgia for a game and I like the atmosphere a lot. I think they have the craziest fans I have seen so far. John Lilly, Will Friend, and Mike Bobo are recruiting me for Georgia and they are cool. They are similar and they have great personalities," Tunsil told Scout.com.
"
Tunsil is arguably the best offensive lineman in this year's class. He has amazing size at 6'6", 295 pounds, great footwork and very long arms. He still needs to bulk up a bit more, but has a ridiculous amount of upside at the tackle position.
He will make his announcement on National Signing Day.
