UFC 146 Live Stream: Fighters to Watch on Preliminary Card

Tim DanielsMay 26, 2012

Before Junior dos Santos and Frank Mir battle for the heavyweight championship, UFC 146 will feature an impressive undercard. The fighters aren't household names, but they are all looking for their big break and the best way to make that happen is to keep winning.

Let's take a look at three fighters on the preliminary card that will be worth tuning in to watch. UFC provides a live stream of the first few fights on Facebook, which is where you can catch all three of the following competitors.

Mike Brown

Brown returns to the octagon for the first time since last August to take on Daniel Pineda. The veteran got off to a rough start in UFC with two straight losses before beating Nam Phan to get things back on track before the long layoff.

What makes him so interesting to watch is his versatility. He can adapt to any style, and that's proven by his record. Of his 25 career victories, 13 has come by submission, seven by decision and five by knockout. That gives him a chance no matter what approach his opponent uses.

Pineda actually has been on quite the winning streak as of late, rattling off seven straight victories, but I predict that will come to an end against Brown.

Glover Teixeira

After starting his career 2-2, Teixeira has picked up 15 straight wins and earned a chance to join UFC. He'll be making his promotion debut against Kyle Kingsbury in what should be one of the night's best undercard fights.

Teixeira really needs to make an instant impact with a win in his first UFC appearance. There are so many guys fighting for the same chances that even a single loss can have a significant effect. The Brazilian star needs to make his first impression a good one.

He should have the edge on Kingsbury, who lost to Stephan Bonnar in his last match. Teixeira has enough power to cause a knockout.

Paul Sass

Sass is a submission specialist that will be going up against Jacob Volkmann. The 23-year-old rising star holds a 12-0 career record, with all but one of those victories coming by submission. He couldn't have asked for a better start.

Even though his style of fighting isn't as exciting as somebody who constantly attempts to land haymakers, fans should appreciate the technical side of it. Winning by submission takes just as much work, if not more, than getting a knockout.

Volkmann only has two career losses and will be a tricky test for Sass. That said, look for the Englishman to keep his undefeated record in tact by, what else, submission.
