50 Shades of AJ: A Look at the WWE Diva's Descent into Madness
Fifty Shades of Grey is an e-book that has been making waves in the literary industry for its portrayal of a submissive woman, but there is another story involving an unstable woman which is just as, if not more interesting.
AJ Lee is someone who is creating more questions than almost anyone else in WWE right now, and that is a very good thing for her career and the company.
When we first met AJ, she was a plucky young woman who was looking to become a WWE wrestler on NXT. She surprised everyone with her highly athletic style and keen grasp of in-ring performance.

WWE management must have been impressed, because not long after she began appearing on SmackDown, she entered into a storyline relationship with Daniel Bryan.
As Bryan became World Champion, it seemed like he and his young love would be riding to the top together. This was not to be the case.
Bryan turned into a sour, bitter, egotistical champion who seemingly only kept AJ around as a means of holding onto his title through cheap tactics.
Fans and WWE commentators alike began to question the stability of a woman who would allow herself to be verbally and emotionally abused like this.
The end of the relationship pushed AJ over the edge. She began attacking people she considered friends, and her demeanor was erratic and volatile, to say the least.
Despite Bryan's verbal abuse, she continued for a long time to try to get back the man who not only dumped her on national television, but also said some truly nasty things about her.
In recent weeks, we have watched as she has begun to exhibit signs of being both insane as well as manipulative. Her short temper may all be intentional on her part.
She has had a few interactions with WWE Champion CM Punk which have left the Chicago native looking confused each time.
This week's Raw was another one of those incidents. AJ began crying after nearly snapping on Punk, and he did his best to comfort her. The oddest moment came when he calmly told her to stop crying and she stopped at the drop of a hat, looking at him with empty, vacant eyes.
This is the kind of emotional instability I once thought was confined to the film Secretary, and yet here I am, seeing AJ turn into a woman whose mental state cannot be defined by logic.
There are plenty of questions we can ask. Is she someone who likes it when the men in her life abuse her? Is she simply mentally unstable? Is this all part of some larger plan of AJ's we have yet to see unfold?
Quite frankly, any of these things could be possible, but the best thing about any of this is that a Diva is being used in a cerebral storyline that has people guessing what will happen week after week.
Her behavior is by no means anything anyone would want to experience firsthand, but watching it as a fan has been enthralling, and I am always curious to see where WWE will go with it.
What do you think is next for AJ?
