NBA Draft Combine 2012: Full List of Participants and Schedule
May 22, 2012
The NBA draft combine may not garner the same attention from the media as its football counterpart, but the importance of the event remains the same.
This is the premier event of the pre-draft process, and all of the top prospects have been given the invite. If you aren’t one of the 60 players invited to participate next month in Chicago, odds are, you won’t be hearing your name called at the draft.
Here is the schedule for the next month leading up to the NBA Draft:
May 30 (Wed): NBA draft lottery
June 7-8 (Thurs-Fri): NBA draft combine
June 18 (Mon): Deadline for international players declaring early to withdraw from the draft
June 28 (Thurs): NBA draft
By no surprise, Kentucky leads its pack, with six of its former players invited, with North Carolina placing second with four.
For the first time in years, we may watch the first round go by without a single international player getting selected. The vast majority of the top prospects have one or two years of collegiate experience under their belt and are going to take some time to develop. That makes their performance in front of dozens of scouts incredibly important at the combine.
Only a select few of the players that decided to stay all four years of college will be attending the festivities in Chicago.
