Aroldis Chapman: Reds Star Closer Reportedly Arrested After Run-in with Police
Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman was arrested early Monday morning after he was stopped by police for driving his Mercedes at 93 mph, according to WLWT Channel 5 in Cincinnati.
However, speeding was not the reason he was arrested. The report also says that police found Chapman was driving with a suspended Kentucky driver's license. He is expected to appear in court on June 6.
Chapman, who was recently named the Reds closer due to the struggles of Sean Marshall, did not pitch in the team's 4-1 victory over Atlanta on Monday night.

The Associated Press reported that Chapman met with manager Dusty Baker and general manager Walt Jocketty after Monday's win and that they did not know about the arrest before the game started.
""I don't know what happened," Baker said after the meeting with Chapman. "He got a speeding ticket. It can happen to anybody. His people are taking care of it, and we're helping."

Chapman should know better than to be speeding with a suspended license, but nothing in the police report says that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It's an embarrassing situation for him to be in, but nothing more.
As long as Chapman gets his license situation taken care of and can stay away from putting the pedal to the metal, he will likely end up paying a hefty fine before putting the situation behind him.
